  1. That is certainly an understatement...some things have been broken since the dawn of 2017...
  2. +1 minute just to load the main forum page... :(
  3. Exactly...this is a hardware issue with the controller board in the UMO+ and Ultimaker 2-3 printers. Easy fix...buy the TL-smooth and install it.
  4. Well, still waiting 9+ months for fixes to basic functionality would drive even Yoda crazy
  5. Also we can’t make every version for every user. That could be so gigantic we will never get anything done. Also, let’s do first one thing that works, then let the opensource evolve I know...and I don't expect you too...I was just throwing out some ideas from my head And the fact that you are doing a CoreXY mod that can be applied to an Ultimaker is awesome in itself. I'm so exited for all the things you and @gudo are throwing at us <3 And right now I don't have time to evolve my thoughts...but as a famous Swedish film character (after a Danish original) said..."Jag har en plan!"..
  6. That's why we are all complaining Some issues are almost a year old and still going strong... I only visit here now because some of the interesting stuff is still posted here...but it is not with yoy...and it is easy to miss things since even such a basic thing as forum navigation is broken :(
  7. I totally understand that...but making a frame with alu-extrusion and then making some plates, or crossings, to stiffen it up is far easier to do than creating a frame when you don't have a CNC
  8. Good...I hope its coming soon @sandervg I really like my Ultimaker and there is still interesting stuff discussed here...otherwise I would have dropped off long ago
  9. Not knowing the details of the CoreXY mod for the stock frame...I imagine that it would not be that hard to change it to fit the UM2 aluminium extrusion clone: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:811271 But @gudo's end-goal looks much nicer
  10. Macbook Air with 8GB RAM...happily running Fusion 360, Simplify3D et.al. and they launch faster than Cura.
  11. Initial launch after downloading Cura 2.7...after more than one minute it still hasn't popped up... Second launch attempt...60 sec until Cura finished loading...don't thing this version is going to be used so much :(
  12. Oops, you took the words out of my head When Gudo's CoreXY is out, and I have time , I want to try to realize my ideas
  13. The Go is a sweet little printer...with better print quality than the full size UM's. I rarely print things that would not fit on the Go's bed. And it's the perfect size to have in your house...or for your kids to play with
  14. Use this one instead: https://www.youmagine.com/designs/compact-mount-for-e3d-v6-hot-end-on-ultimaker-original He also has an alternative fanshroud if you look at this designs. Note: I have not used it myself.
  15. Yeahh! CoreXY UM system upgrade... Now that gonna be a fun ride! If only I had more time and a CNC mill...you have sparkled ideas in my brain based on this
  16. You know... New short belt pulleys (a-la um2 gt2 single dual pulley) New Z endstop New gudo-neotko-beyond slideblocks Done I already have all of that but the short belt pulleys
  17. Impressive! Well done...now I wish I had an UM2
  18. That is the best extruder you can mount on your UMO+/UM2 today It is by far the best upgrade I have made to my UMO+ after I switched to an UM2 printhead. The design and instructions by @gudo and @neotko are top-notch...and the @Bondtech gears...OMG...the ZGE will happily feed whatever filament you throw at it...and for Ninjaflex type flexibles...you can pretty much print it at the same speed as you would print with regular filament on a stock Ultimaker. It will take some effort to print one though. But if you follow the instructions carefully you will have a best-in-class extruder
  19. Wrote a long reply to a thread this weekend only to discover later that the forum trashed my post without throwing any kind of error. And I didn't feel like trying to reply all over again. How about returning to a forum software with a proven track-record? It's not as if there isn't any good alternatives available... Surely by now you must have realized that this forum is a disaster? Nothing you have done in the past year to, as you say improve things, has been an improvment :( Not even faults with clear descriptions of what is not working is reacted upon
  20. There is a big difference with Bondtech vs. the stock feeder on the UM2+ even though others have not said so. The stock feeder "squeezes" the filament since it only has one gear...while Bondtech will gently move the filament since it has dual gears that will have a good grip on the filament without "squeezing" it. Just take a look at the Bondtech drive gears and then look at the stock gear and it will be obvious how much better it works...especially if you have a lot of retractions That said...i'm not using a bowden setup anymore...i'm using the ZGE which also uses Bondtech gears.
  21. That issue seems to be random...it doesn't always happen to me...but too often. Another issue is that if you click in "unread posts" on a topic that you have never read before you are not taken to the first post...you are taken to the first reply...
  22. Not to mention the UI...if you are not using a retina display and have good, no top notch, eye vision you will struggle with this site. As a simple example...hit the search button in the top right...and tell me if you did not have to think if the click actually worked...there is a search field there...but it is so well hidden even Sherlock Holmes would have had a hard time locating it...
  23. Still...if the bed is not level...trying to "fix" it with a probe that is just making sure that the nozzle doesn't hit the bed is...a hack. If it instead was used during bed leveling to adjust the bed...that would be a totally different story. But as it is now...it is just a marketing gimmick...although one that, I can agree, does "assist" a noob to some degree...but it is not helping in the long term to understand what is happening.
  24. Once the forum page has loaded, clicking on a post or subforum is better. Although it is still worse that other forum software. But at least that part did not get worse over summer. But there are actions that also shows sign of too high latency. I don't remember what I did yesterday, but that action took like 20 secs. Maybe its doing a lot more DB accesses then, or it is accessing some data that has way too high latency.
  25. Why do you want to put even more weight on the printhead? I would be interested in shaving away as much as I can And, imo, I don't see what benefits you would get from an autoleveling feature. Once you have leveled your bed it's done. If it's not level...I don't want some software trying to "fix" it
