  1. You can reduce your build plate temp to 65 and it might help with the corners. Buy a can of aqua net hair spray (the purple one). Spray a little on a paper towel and wipe on the build plate before printing. It really is the best thing for adhesion. The saggy waistline is probably just because of the overhang. Reducing the heat a little might help this out as well. You'll just need to tweak your temps about 5 degrees at the time and play with it until you dial it in.
  2. Your top/bottom thickness could be reduced. Doing 1.2 mm of 100% density will cause some shrinking to occur at the build plate. You could also drop your infill density to 20%. From my experience, the more density, the more shrinking, which causes the elephant feet.
  3. Haven't had any replies so I've just been working off some of the other similar posts. I think I've narrowed it down to my x-stop. I can move +x, but not -x. When I swap cables with the y-stop, I get the same problem on the y. Just want to know if I need to replace the x-stop, or if there could be another reason for this. If so, where can I find one?

  5. My ultimaker 2 seems to be be having trouble homing. I've installed Pronterface and when I move in the X or Y direction, it shows that it's hitting the endstops around the middle of the machine and won't go any further. Also won't return to the home position. On a separate note and hopefully related, I'm getting gaps between the lines in my first few layers. It doesn't happen on the infill, just the bottom and top layers. For this, I've tightened all pulleys, tightened the feeder screw, atomic method many times. I'm hoping all these issues are related. Thanks for any feedback. UPDATE: I got the line gaps back to normal. Just needed to adjust the build plate a little. SM
  6. Update: I've just finished loosening and re-tightening all the pulleys down and things seem to be running smoothly again. I realized the problem originally started because my print was about 1/8" too far to the right and the right fan scrubbed against the inside wall of the printer as it laid the first layer, throwing everything off and apparently throwing my pulleys out of whack. I still have the rattling noise, but printer seems to be running fine in spite of it.
  7. Thanks for the reply. I've gone through all these items several times and still getting the leaning. I'm sure it's related to the rattling noise when my printer moves from right to left. You can hear it in the video. This is when the drag is happening. I just can't nail down where it's coming from. I printed a single .25" dia. cylinder in the middle of the printer and it came out perfectly straight. When I try one at each of the four corners, they're all leaning heavily to the right.
  8. I've been working my UM2 pretty hard recently, and right at the end of a 25 hour print, the print started to create a lean from left to right (see images below). I've followed all the guide instructions - tightened all pulleys, loosened and re-tightened all pulleys, removed both stepper motors and adjusted pulleys to be around 0.5 mm from motor, made sure nothing is touching the belts and oiled the axes. I've had a little improvement, but still getting a significant lean. I also have a strange rattle when the print head moves from right to left across the front. This can be heard in the video. I appreciate all the tips I've found so far. Hopefully someone knows of the one I may have missed. [/img] https://youtu.be/vZDlOL5yOlA
  9. I'm having the leaning issue as well. I've adjust my pulleys and it improved a little, but I'm still getting leaning. One thing I noticed is my small belt to the servo keeps walking over close to the servo. I try to center it on the teeth of both pulleys but it always walks back over. Could this be causing drag? If so, are you aware of any solutions? Thanks for your feedback.
  10. I've had my UM2 for a while now and was just wondering if there are any typical maintenance issues that should be taken care of regularly. For instance, when I purchased a roll of CPE filament, I received a PTFE replacement because of CPE's higher printing temperatures. Anyone know the order of when things typically need to be checked or replaced? Thanks, dfw3d
