  1. I'm having issues where the printer will stop printing, thinking is out of filament. This happens only on the PVA filament I have printing in the second core. Usually this is an issue with the tension setting at the feeder but I'm tighten it, losing it but i still does not feed the way it should. You know how the filament gets the indentation in it from the feeder trying to feed filament that is not moving? I take the filament off, cut about two inches off so the feeder moves past the indentation and then it's fine for another 10 minutes. Then it does it again. Any ideas?
  2. Come on Ultimaker, if your going to make a wash station make it so it can fit your largest prints. I would love to reduce my PVA removal from weeks to days, but I can't put my largest prints in this. Please Make a bigger version of this.
  3. I did solve the problem by switching from cura on my imac to cura on my Windows 10 PC. Now I can update my materials. I do have to say that Ultimaker is seems to be making this harder than it should be. I also had a FormLabs resin based machine where a connection has never been a problem.
  4. When I got my S5, last week, I first tried to connect to it via wifi to discover it tries to create it's own wifi hotspot. WHY!!!?? This is a MAJOR security failure, don't give my neighbors another hotspot to connect to, how is it securing that hotspot? Bottom line I never saw the hotspot and to connect to so I gave up and just connected it directly to my Ethernet network. Only to discover that this is a challenge as well. Come on Ultimaker devices have been effortlessly connecting to Ethernet for 2 decades now, this is not a difficult thing to do. So I connect to my network, when I press network it show the IP address which is in range of my available IP addresses. But I can't ping the printer. So I turn the printer off and turn it back on and it then comes up with a wild ass ip address that is not even within the ip range for my network. I can also ping the wild ass IP address and it comes back. So fine this will be the IP address lets print. By the end of the print the IP address switches back to the IP that is in my network range, and once again I can't talk to the printer. WTF Ulimaker, you can create a machine that does amazing things but can't figure out how to put it on a network?
  5. OMG! ok, I missed that. There was one more layer of blue, so looks like it will work out. thanks
  6. So this is a picture of the first layer which will have an overhang. My concern is that there is no solid material under the print but an open grid of triangles. If yours look different then I may have the incorrect setting. I do have the interface set to 100%. I will take your word that it will not print a deformed overhang. Scott L.
  7. I have an Ultimaker 2+ Extended, but I'm looking at purchasing an S5 with the dual extruder. The main reason I want a dual extruder is the pva supports. I went into Cura and opened up an S5 Printer and put a sample print in to see how the supports would be printed. Specifically the Bottom and the Roof supports, what i was expecting for the roof supports, which were set for 100%, was a solid support at the roof level. It was NOT solid but still had a honey comb shape. So my question: Is a 100% roof expected to be a solid material so that I don't get deformations on the 90 degree overhanges?
  8. 1. Name of File - DO NOT add the name of the printer to the name of the file. Most if not all, printers do not have a display wide enough to display both the name of the file to be printed and the name of the printer. 2. Profile - It's nice that we can save different profiles within the tool, however we can't save the profile as a file name without exporting and importing. The save all should save all, the stl file, profile, gcode file and the model as it was placed on the build plate. All it saves right now is the gcode file which it cant open like the previous version of cura. I'm a 30 year IT person and one thing I have noticed is that younger developer have lost the ability to empathize with the users of their software. The file name is proof of this. No user on the plant would want it to do this.
