  1. Thanks for the response neotko. Every bit helps.
  2. Is there a power supply available for the Utimaker 2Extended + that provides more than 9.2amps? My hot ends have 2 heating elements instead of one. The 2+Extended stock hot end, from my measurements draw about 1.5amps. I measured 1.7amps on the one I'm using. Would this number double for two heating elements? After the bed heats and starts to heat the nozzle the machine shuts down then restarts. When I use the stock parts the machine works fine. I gave it more thought and did some research and found plenty of options for a power source. So now my Question is If my hot end used 3+amps could the mother board handle it? Are we limited to 9.2amps.
  3. I'll check again in about an hour. Currently I've got the machine pulled apart. I pulled the build plate and checked the connections, resistance in the wires and all looks good. No resistance or damaged wires. Checked voltage at the power terminal on the board. I've got 24.1V. I'm going to reassemble and try again. I'll get back to you shortly. thanks for the help.
  4. Just finished reading some older post and found one with the exact symptoms. The lights start to flicker then the power goes out. That's how mine started. In the post they claimed to have replaced the motherboard and build plate to no avail. They were advised to replace the power supply but didn't say if this worked. Anybody remember the post and remedy.
  5. I measured the resistance first at the board and then disconnected the wires and measured them. In both instances I measured 3.2 ohms. Does anybody have a reading to compare.
  6. Heating elements can be checked by measuring the resistance between the two wires. I don't know what the reading should be. I need a reading from a good one to compare. Did anybody notice my pic. The number of my power brick doesn't match the pic neotko posted. I'll check the resistance on the heater for the bed and post this. I've only had the machine for about 2 months. Does anybody know if this is covered under the 1 year warranty.
  7. I tried a few different prints. All with the same problem. Started a print and tuned the bed temp down. While changing the bed temp the machine shut down. Loaded a new print file with bed temps off and this worked. The machine actually started to print. I've included a pic of my power source. Any ideas on what would cause this. THanks Everybody I sincerely appreciate the Help.
  8. My machine, during heat up before a print will suddenly shut down then restart as if the power switch had turned off and on. I went into maintenance and manually heated the nozzle, raised and lowered the bed, and performed the bed leveling process with no problems. Tried to print again and same problem. while heating the bed, right before the nozzle started to heat it shut down then restarted. Any help would be appreciated.
  9. Thanks for the replies. I forgot to mention the machine. It's the Ultimaker 2+ extended. I added a dual extrusion kit and their firmware upgrade inverted feeder 1 stepper motor. While waiting for their support team to respond I was hoping to reinstall the default firmware and be able to print with nozzle 1. So if the bed leveling process creates a reference point for plate to nozzle distance then the material thickness your leveling with such as paper(.004) or the ultimaker card(.006) will have an impact on the first layer. Is this correct?
  10. If I make mods to the tool that change it dimensionally through the Z axis I suppose the bed could smak the toolhead. So how does the machine know where to stop for the first layer.
  11. Sam from Creatr sent me an E-mail this morning that contained 3 files. I appears to be the firmware and calibration files and he says he's ready to help. I'll keep everyone informed on the progress. Thanks to gr5.
  12. I bought the dual extrusion upgrade Kit from Creatr for my 2+Extended. The kit arrived without the firmware. Been trying for two weeks to contact these people but no response. Tried to download the firmware from their site but the links aren't working. So now I've got over $700.00 dollars in merchandise from Creatr that I cant use. I'm hoping somebody has the firmware and could share or sell me a copy.
