  1. Since 50+ people viewed this topic and not one person either knew the answer or cared to help, I'll do what I always do... figure it out myself and then post for people who also have the same troubles I do. So... run the 2.7 appimage, so that it can create the directories it needs, and then shut it down. Go into the "quality" directory of your 2.6 setup - [ ~/.local/share/cura/2.6/quality ]. Copy all of the .cfg profiles and then paste those into the "quality" directory of your 2.7 setup ~/.local/share/cura/2.7/quality ]. When you restart Cura 2.7, the new profiles will be there.
  2. Running Ubuntu Linux 16.04LTS, I usually wait until the Cura version is updated in the PPA repository. It's been a little bit since 2.7 was released and I'd like to give it a try. I downloaded the appimage from your site, but how do I get it to see the printer and filament settings that I've been using in the apt-get installed 2.6 version? Thanks.
  3. Thank you. That worked - and looks - perfect!
  4. Yeah, 768 is the largest I can go on my laptop. Why is the minimum size necessary?
  5. Just a thought... it would be really great if the main Cura window were sizable. Running Cura 2.4.0 under Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, I find that it is necessary to auto hide the top and bottom panels to be able to see all of the Cura window. If I don't hide those bars, then I am unable to see the [save to File] button, the object dimensions, the print time and the filament usage. If I were to be able to size the Cura window down a bit like I can every other program I run, I wouldn't have this trouble. And I really hate autohiding bars. www.RobotsAndComputers.com/temp/CuraScreenshot.png -=[ edit ]=- I had better be more specific. I am able to resize the window left to right, but not up and down.
  6. Yes, that WOULD be good to know! Thanks.
  7. No matter what I set the nozzle temperature to in Cura 2.4.0 under Ubuntu Linux 16.04 LTS, the gcode generated is always five degrees higher. I have to set the temperature five degrees lower than what I actually want. Why?
  8. So I installed Cura via the PPA, but it is missing several plug-ins, one of which is the Post-Processing Extension. When I run the appimage version, however, the plug-ins are there. Will the PPA version be updated to include these or should I just stick with the appimage instead?
  9. I am new to 3d printing and I have been using Slic3r, but people keep suggesting Cura. I have looked high and low, under every rock, but I cannot find how to set Cura up to slice for the Tevo. Is there anywhere I can find settings for this printer? And what do the settings for the printhead do? They are currently set to xmin=20 and ymin, xmax and ymax set to 10mm . Any help would be great. Thanks.
