  1. Hi guys, need a little help with this one: small object needs te be printed (50 pieces) printer: UM3 with closed cabin Material: UM ABS black and/or CF NGEN black I've managed so far to print a single strong version in NGEN but when I print 25pcs at a time the pins easily break off. With UM abs I haven't even succeeded in making one single strong print 😐 I've played with wall thickness, temperature, speed, infill overlap, infill and some other but i've got a feeling there is something I am not seeing... maybe simply too much once? Anyone has a suggestion to increase strength of these tiny pins? 1-50x-halter_oled_256x64_cog_univision-original.stl UM3_dump.3mf
  2. Hi guys, For some months now I have an old printjob in my printtask overview that can't be deleted. Does anyone know how to? I've tried to locate the file responsible but no luck. anyone? TIA Barry
  3. Hi all, i've one AA core with a defected nozzle (damaged myself, don't ask how:-) so not warranty) but unfortunately UM won't sell spare nozzles for the UM3. At one hand understandable (because of the idea behind the core) but when you have a perfectly good core and only need a nozzle it feels completely unnecessary to put this core in the dumpster. So does anyone know a alternative supplier for spare nozzles that fit the UM3? I already use 3dsolex so don't need to mention them. They work excellent but the nozzle will not fit in the original core. Another solution from UM itself might be that I sent them my core so they can fix it and send it back but this also doesn't seem to be an option at UM. So, before I put this core in the dumpster, I hope someone can help me out....
  4. thanks Indy, that's seems a logical explanation. just back from the holidays and have updated firmware yesterday so I will have a look at it once again.
  5. Hi, was just wondering... why is it that whenever I start a job with only extruder 1 used the heating program starts and also heats up extruder 2 (to about 170degr.)? generally I wouldn't mind but since extruder 2 is the BB core with pva it doesn't improve the quality of the pva when it's heated unnecessary. any one has a thought on this?
  6. Hi UltimateBacon, it's sound exactly as what I need but like Arno before me I have no idea were to start. Can you make it a for dummies pls :-) What to do with the ffmpeg file and how to use python to execute this script... would be much appreciated
  7. Thanks Amadee, that sounds like a usefull tip. I will give it a try.
  8. Hi, it seems like i can't get the buildplate to level properly. The springs are complety stretched but nozzle is not close enough to the buildplate. Is there another way to get the nozzle and buildplate closer together? appreciate the help...
  9. Well, it's been a couple off days now and so far.... me happy :-) @nallath: the reason I created this thread was just because of this. It's to complicated for non-linux users and I think there should be an easier way by default. But luckily there's no need for me because in this case dhcp binding is enough. thanks guys!
  10. thanks for the tip xyz... i've set it up. Now let's wait and see for a couple of days..
  11. Morning Guys, I want to set a static Ip adres for my UM3 but don't see a workable workaround yet. Although i've read some threads about this topic none of them provide an easy workaround. So my question of today is... is there an easy way? Hope so, because at this moment I have to allow access to my printer every 2-3 days or so... i think/hope static ip will resolve this. Barry
  12. Thanks Tom, I'll get my self a needle of some sort... Maybe it's an idea that UM hands some procedure on how to handle PVA when you don't use it for some time... i see more people struggle with this. What i'll do is change bb printcore as soon as I don't use it and put in a sealed bag with silica... hopefully that helps.. any other tips?
  13. Hi guys, has anyone ever tried to demount the bb printcore? I've a serious pva clog in it and the regular unglogging procedure is not working. it think the pva is burned and not melting anymore.... I just want to make sure if there are 'things' to consider demounting it. thanks ia Barry
  14. that's what I thought...hmm have to do some network re-installation i am afraid.. thanks!
  15. Update: in the meantime I've managed to connect with UM3 again, but I must say it's not a stable one. Sometimes connection is lost again and I have to restart Cura and/or UM3 to regain connection. But to be honest: i think it has something to do with my network. I do have a question though: Is it so, that whenever I switch on my UM3 and PC I have to allow the computer to grand access the UM3 on UM3display? If so, me not happy because I've chosen the wifi because of separate room for my printers. Or is this, as I can imagine, created because of my trouble with wifi and is it not 'normal' behavior to ask for accepting access?
  16. Well, i've decided to go for PVA but not upside down. Top surface isn't as nice as when I have the curved side on top. Since it doesn't cost a lot of extra PVA I do it like this. Thanks guys for all the support..slowly getting the hang of my UM3... do have some other questions though but create new topic for it.
  17. Hi All, Last week my new UM3 suddenly had no wifi connection anymore and ever since I can't get it connected anymore. Nothing changed at my network. I did however, from the start, had some trouble every now and then that wifi connection was lost during printing. But restarting the software solved that issue until last week. I've tried resetting to factory settings but no luck. It's fails at the point where it wants to connect to my home network. Creating Hotspot is ok. When I go to my pc or phone to complete setup it will I can create name and select wifi network. But it will fail at one point with 'unable to connect to wifi'. any one a suggestion?
  18. Thanks for all the tips guys! I'll have to start monday with printing for client and I've decided to go for one more test run with PVA and see how that turnes out. I havent tried iet yet on the UM3 so great opportunity to find out. I'll keep you posted next week for what my final approach was :-)
  19. Sorry guys, my notifications where set at weekly so I just now see I missed some responses. I will check the link you send Marrut. thanks! in the meantime I am wondering: Is it possible in cura to split support in two parts so that only top layers are printed in PVA and bottomlayers in PLA?
  20. Hi Sander, I guess it's because I have to print 50 pieces of them and it significantly increases the price of the batch. you talk about solid top support layer, which setting is that because i can't find it? even though I guess it won't work as well with pla support?
  21. Hi Marrut, thanks and your english is fine although I am not sure I get it :-) How do you create that extra layer? With that offset? In Cura? I would like to experiment with these settings. Can you make it a little more specific for me? thanks
  22. really? with support? I thought about it and thought , nah, that will never be as good. I'll def. give it a try now. thanks
  23. Hi guys, i've got a question: I've got this model with a 90degr. overhang which I print with support. It comes out great except for the bottom layers that are resting on the support layers. I see some possibilities in cura with support z distance but so far no better results. Anyone a suggestion?
  24. oh, thank you Lord! :-) I did think the gray areas where good for something but didn't realize this. So as long I keep away from the red circles it would be fine and I can use a bigger platform? I just now realize the actual platform is larger (250x250) than the promoted platform (215x215). Or should I def. stay away from the gray areas? Many many thanks!
