  1. Hi all, I was just curious if there are any aftermarket PrintCores available for the UM3 that allow you to swap nozzles? Thanks in advance!
  2. Hi Everyone, I am having some issues with prints using an Ultimaker 3. In the last few months I have began to notice that my prints are not as consistent in their quality and that a majority of them have holes in the walls. We use Ultimaker PLA in primarily black but also in other colors, and this issue seems to be consistent across the different colors and even with brand new spools. I have attached an image to give you an idea of the issue. I have also been reading some other posts that suggest this may be due to filament retraction when hopping, such that when it starts to print a new layer there is a lack of filament in the tip to start printing. Any relevance for this here? Additionally, I was wondering if anyone had suggestions or can lead me in the right direction on how to obtain high-quality water-tight prints. We are a cancer biology lab and print a variety of models for culturing cells and have recently been having issues with some of our prints leaking, or with the liquid media being absorbed into the meshwork of the prints. We have only used PLA and typically print using the extra fine profile in Cura. Any tips on materials or printer settings that could help in printing more "solid" and water-tight models that could help alleviate any of these issues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for you help in advance!
  3. Hi Everyone, I am trying to clean the print cores in my Ultimaker 3 using the standard procedure of hot and cold pulls, however, I am consistently breaking the PLA filament during the cold pull such that a large piece of it is still stuck in the print core. Any tips or suggestions for cleaning or how to overcome this? Thanks! Logan
  4. Hello everyone, I'm having some issues with my prints where my top layers seem to have holes in them. Perhaps it's because it's such a small surface area since I'm printing my structure vertically, but please let me know if there is anything I can do to help with this issue. Thanks!
  5. I also sent over WiFi. I don't believe we had any power outages/surges either, so we can rule that out on my end. I have a feeling that it is something to do with the updated software considering we both encountered the same problem using 3.5.0, and I'm unable to locate any other instances of this error suggesting it is a new occurrence. I am currently repeating the same print from a different computer using older Cura around 3.2. I will update tomorrow if the print is successful.
  6. I was also using Cura 3.5.0. Perhaps this is the issue? @Jakeddesign what version were you using?
  7. I also got this same error today using a UM3. Pictures attached for reference. It appears the print head just stopped in place with the core touching down to the print still. Any suggestions on how to address this, or what happened in the first place?
  8. Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone knows what could cause a print have to have strings of PLA extruding from it. Picture attached for reference. Thanks!
  9. Thanks for the help everyone! I will start with trying the silicon grease and move to the other suggestions from there.
  10. Hi everyone, I am running into an issue where during my prints the PLA becomes too tightly wrapped around the spool and gets stuck under the rest of the filament, which then causes the material to grind in place and halts feeding. Is there any way to overcome this issue? It's almost as if the spool was too loose at one point so now the leading filament gets stuck under the rest of the spool as it gradually tightens. Thanks in advance!
  11. Hi all, I am using the Ultimaker 3 with transparent Ultimaker PLA and I believe I am having some issues with the first layer of print. It doesn't look as clean or nice as the images of a "Successful first layer" posted in the resources section. I am using Cura with default settings and have the Ultimaker set on active leveling. I have attached images of a first layer. Please let me know if you have any suggestions, or if this looks somewhat normal. Thank you!
