  1. I have an UMO with two extruders.

Since the Heatercartridge (1st Extruder) has been damaged (Cable broken / short circuit?) and I repaired it, the Nozzle does not heating up anymore.

To check, if the Heatercartridge is still ruined I changed the pair of Heatercables (1st Heater/ 2nd Heater) and I had to notice that my repaired Cartridge heats up ! (at the 2nd Heater power connection on the PCB).

I am afraid, that my PCB (pcb 1.5.7, the green one) just at the 1st-Heater-power-connection is ruined.

If so, which electronic parts I could exchange...?! Or is there any other reason to fix that problem?

I would be very glad if I could get any piece of advice!

  2. Print Head Size settings were covered in a older thread. You can find it there:

    https://ultimaker.com/en/community/49872-printhead-settings?page=1&sort=#reply-182793

As for Regular Expressions, if you're not a programmer they can be very confusing...ok, even if you are a programmer, they are very confusing...

Regular Expressions allow you to write very complex Search and Replace commands that can account for a variety of possible matches, replacements, and search functions.

The Python RegEx page can be found here: https://docs.python.org/2/library/re.html

    Good luck!

    .....

ok... I found out, that there is no way, to set 'Print Head Size settings' in Cura 2.4 ...

I just looked at the 'machine defs' in the .json - file and modified it .. but only the bed-dimensions ... change 'printhead settings' is to crazy for me here.... :O

the 'The Python RegEx page' tells me nothing... it's too much for my brain... :D

  3. Hi !

I cannot seem to get the "Print Sequence" options to open up for me even though I have all the3 settings checked to be open.

    AllChecked-NoPrintSequenceAvailable.jpg

Even when I have two models loaded and look in the per model settings, it does not show. What am I doing wrong or missing here?

    2ModelsLoaded-StillNotVisibleInPermodelSettings.jpg

...as far as I have learned here in the forum, 'these options are not able to set with 'dual-extruder-machines'

... and your UM3 has two extruders?!

maybe this thread helps : "Print Sequence" options ----->

  4. Hi there,

Just downloaded Cura 2.6 Beta and the problem is gone. I installed 'appimage-git' from the AUR and ran './Cura-2.6.0-BETA.AppImage'. So whatever got changed with the layer view in 2.6, fixed this too. Hopefully the changes remain and are fixed in the 2.6 stable release.

hm, I think a newer Version of Cura does NOT fix the problem...

look at this thread (scroll down): --->

    https://ultimaker.com/en/community/39281-cura-not-using-user-set-machine-print-head-size?page=1&amp%3Bsort=#reply-183614

(my PC is an old one, Win7 / dual Core)

    @ phamtq :

What about this 'appimage-git' ? how does it work?

  5. Hi, thanks for the answere....

Can you clarify "The compatibility mode is'nt just fine )-: " ? Compatibility mode should look just like layerview in Cura 2.4.

hm ... no, it does not.. the lines in the grafic are not highlighted.... like in Cura 2.4

Am I doing something wrong? I guess my graficcard does not match? I tried to upgrade it, but without any results.... :(

  6. Hi there..!

how I can configure the "material settings" in Cura 2.4 ?

I cannot creat a very own material, with all it's paramaters ... and what about like "cost", "weight" etc....?? the fields to type in are allways greyed!

I ve tried to import a material ... and Cura says:

    "material has been successfully imported"

... but it appears no where in the List :

    material.thumb.JPG.22863a41ca5976c1158c870490e09360.JPG

it seems, that the 'material-profile' is 'glued' to the activated printer (the material is once the setting), but not shown in the material-config...?!

I tried it in Cura 2.6 and it works.

    ... any help? PLEASE

  7. Hey DaHai8 !

    thanks a lot!

after some tweaking, I got it! Now I can print with only the 2nd Extr....!!

BUT: I can only use Cura 2.4 , cause the representation of the graphic for "layers view" does not work (Open GL etc...) The "compatibility mode" is'nt just fine )-:

And by the way: Do you know, how I can configure the "machine settings" for the dimensions of the printhead in Cura 2.4 ?

  8. Hi @Sniped1928,

welcome to the Ultimaker community! :)

What version of Cura are you using?

In the latest version, Cura 2.4.0, you can go to settings > printer > manage printer > machine settings; and there you can find the printhead settings. You should be able to alter the settings to match your actual printhead. I think that should change the reference in Cura.

Let us know how it goes!

  9. Hi,

I'm using the UMO with all upgrades, inkl. Dualextruder. It's all fine.

BUT : Sometimes I wanna print with another filament, so I decided for ABS using the 1st extruder and for another filament (lower temperature!) the 2nd extruder.

Is it possible to print a model just with only the second extruder? I wanted to leave two different materials in the extruders, so I don't have to change the material between the prints.

    (----> https://ultimaker.com/en/community/33641-um3-print-with-only-second-extruder )

Of course, I have tried the "per model-settings", but I think, I have trouble with those complex settings of material / printersettings / printprofiles ... :O

And what about the "First Extruder settings" (on the right side of Cura) ... are they important?

My UMO seems to ignore my intention to print with only the 2nd Extr. and heats up the first nozzle too!

In the version of Cura 15.02.1 , I modified the gcode and put T1 in place of T0 to use the second extruder for a print and it works fine. (after long "try-and-error" sessions)

Please, is there anyone out there, who can help - maybe with a few sreenshots of the settings I have to do....?

    Thanks a lot,

    Vinci

  10. Hi,

I'm using the UMO with all upgrades, inkl. Dualextruder. It's all fine...

BUT : Sometimes I wanna print with another filament, so I decided for ABS using the 1st extruder and for another filament (lower temperature!) the 2nd extruder. I tried to print just with the 2nd extruder only!

So I use the "selectextruder-plugin" (in Cura 15.02.1) from "Dim3nsioneer" and it works... but not really!

If the heating-procedure is done, the temp of the 2nd nozzle gets to zero ...and nothing happens at all...

So I allways have to "tune" the temp manually up, so the prints starts... and (then) it is working fine.

I find several threads about the gcode... and I tried to fix it but there's no hope ...

Here is my complete exported gcode-profile from Cura with the "selectextruder-plugin" :

there must be a simple trick... is'nt it!?

    Thanks a lot,
