  1. My ADS-B Receiver station. Supplying FlightRadar24 and FlightAware with airplane flight data.
  2. To answer my own question: with a Print Speed of 70 mm/s and a Wall Speed of 24 mm/s for both hotends the corner parts of this model became straight as they should be.
  3. Hi Guys, what can I do to improve the corners of the part in the picture? I already tried reducing the speed from 70 mm/s to 30 mm/s, but no change. It is being printed on my UM3 with two 0.4 nozzles and PLA. Slicing done with Cura 4.7.1 Thanks for any advice, -pl
  4. Thanks for creating this very helpful document, I like it! BTW, there is an error in „Support distance priority“, where at one place there should be „Z overrides X/Y“ instead of „X/Y overrides Z“ Cheers, -pl
  5. Birdfeed holder, to attach the bird feeder to the new small tree in our garden, with branches too thin, but with a 40 mm diameter trunk. Fixed with two velcro stripes. Filament is Nylon transparent from Ultimaker, construction with Fusion 360.
  6. Actually I am having problems with "Pause at height" also: After loading a model into Cura 3.6.0 I add a post processing script "Pause at height" or "Filament change" for a change at a certain layer number. When during printing the printer (UM3) reaches that certain layer, it goes to pause and I can change the filament. When I resume the print after changing the filament, the (travel-)speeds seem to be different (very high) and there seems to be no more z axis advancements. Is anybody being successful in doing this or could it be some Cura problem (or am I just plainly st
  7. Not sure about that, because in this certain setup the horns are being used as tweeters, with low power input (the FRS 5 X drivers are suited for 5W). I think what you mean here is happening mostly for the lower frequencies with the airwaves transporting a lot of more energy, where material resonances can (and do) influence the sound. But a definitive answer would require some more measurements to check for resonance effects in the horn material. The horns definitely bundle the sound waves, which gives the speakers a very special directional characteristics (which I do not like).
  8. He left it as-is (and likes it). Regarding the layer lines effect of the horns, I just discussed this with a friend of mine who is a real analog audio guy and who designed and built the crossover network for the speakers (which turned out to be a real pain in the neck to optimize it) and did also a lot of measurements of the speaker system. In his opinion the acoustical effect of the layer lines is insignificant. My own tinnitus doesn't allow me to be an audio reference listener :-/ so I don't have an opinion on that.
  9. Thanks & have fun (see attachment)! 😁 Horn_4_3_v5.stl.zip (right now the guy who I made them for is offering the speakers @ebay: https://www.ebay.de/itm/Lautsprecher-Visaton-Gradient-prof-entwickelter-DIY-Lautsprecher/123572160771)
  10. Could somebody please have a look at this peculiar scaling behavior (see video screenshot)? When I rotate a model in Cura 3.6 and scale it in non-uniform way, then -- after the first non uniform scaling -- just by clicking into the scale value windows it changes object sizes in strange ways. I do not think that this is the intended way... please see video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15S9pqEQmlUNl62u6c2E2yVKTOX-D4uT-/view?usp=sharing Thx, -pl
  11. That is not sufficient. Sometimes all you have is the STL file. (And yes, I know that you could import it into the modeling program, but it would be better to be able to measure distances within Cura. This would also be helpful in case you scale a model.)
  12. What about this for a slow startup on MacOS...? UM.VersionUpgradeManager._getUpgradeTasks [281]: Failed to get file version: ~/Library/Application\ Support/cura/3.6/cura.log contains an endless number of lines with this kind of messages. 2018-11-15 22:53:20,838 - INFO - [MainThread] UM.PluginRegistry.loadPlugin [422]: Loaded plugin FileLogger 2018-11-15 22:53:20,849 - INFO - [MainThread] UM.PluginRegistry.loadPlugin [422]: Loaded plugin LegacyProfileReader 2018-11-15 22:53:20,860 - INFO - [MainThread] UM.PluginRegistry.loadPlugin [422]: Load
  13. This is mine... brand new and up-to-date. And Cura 3.5x did run perfectly.
  14. Similar for me. On my 2018 MacBook Pro it takes about 2...3 minutes to start up, using 100% CPU. During this time it displays "updating configuration", before it eventually shows the GUI and becomes responsible. This behavior is reproducible. I guess Cura 3.6 needs some kind of serious tuning 😉 Btw., I like the Gyroid infill!
  15. Nice, about the same place as last year. I would like to get an impression of the S5, so that's a great opportunity. Any chance to receive a ticket voucher? Thanks, -pl
  16. Will Ultimaker be at the formnext 2018 fair in Frankfurt in November?
  17. Thank you, SanderG, for your kind recommendation, I respect your opinion. Anyway I just repaired it, my UM3 ist printing again. Wasn't so difficult, please see my photos and the description. Both of the wires connecting the capacitive leveling sensor are plugged into contact springs on the sensor, and the other side is plugged into a print head PCB connector. Obviously there is a design problem which leads over time to breaking wires at the sensor side, due to bending the wires when opening the print core cover for changing the print cores. If you want to re
  18. From my first exeriences with them they want me to ship the printer back to them. I don't want to do that, because I'm not sure in what condition my beloved UM3 will be returned to me. I would have better bought it somewhere else, but when I bought it I didn't know that. :-/ BTW., would be nice to have some kind of instruction for the printhead repair... (hint, hint)
  19. Same problem with my UM3. :-( Well guys, this is not an intelligent design! Prepare for more complaints to come... So because my reseller is Conrad, I gotta repair it myself, like Tomasz_M. Sigh.
  20. It does not run on my MacBook Retina with MacOS High Sierra 10.13.3 When I try to start it, I can see the splash screen until "...loadind scenes", then it opens some confirmation page and immediately exits without trace. Can I help with some logfiles? Where to find? Cheers from GY, -pl
  21. Same annoying graphics problem for me: MacOS and Cura 3.2 as well as Cura 3.2.1 The problem did show up in an earlier (pre 3.1) version of Cura, but does not happen with Cura 3.1.
  22. I would suppose that it works only on nonstructured, vertical walls, doesn‘t it?
  23. This would be very helpful. As you guys suggested, I played around with the settings and as it turned out, the retraction setting was the culprit for the seam. I disabled it and set the layer height to 0.4mm, speed 25mm/sec, inreased the extruder temperature to 210°C and voila! (Compare before/after version in the photo) Thanks for all your kind support!
  24. Yes, besides the seam it looks nice. Going up a bit with the extruder temp seems to help avoiding the faults, as well as reducing the print speed. But how can I get rid of the seam when using the AA0.8 nozzle? Will try to dive into the g-code and compare the .4 and .8 codes. Maybe that could help to understand what's happening here. Btw., I'm using Filamentworld PLA clear (PLA300XCLR). It comes on a bigger spool, which makes it impossible to put another spool on the UM3 spool holder. And yes, I printed and tried the alternative spool holder, but am not satis
