  1. Annnnnnd, as mysteriously as it appeared, the problem is now gone. Go figure. I'll leave this post here for suggestions on why this might happen.
  2. UM3+ never had network issues. Printing fine for weeks. Always use Cura to Print Over Network option. Finished a print job and suddenly the next one can't connect to the printer. No updates that I'm aware of with the exception of WinOS updates. 1. Printer shows in monitor tab. 2. Network refresh shows printer fine. Selecting it shows option to "connect" 3. Clicking connect brings printer up in Monitor window. 3 seconds later, the printer disappears again and I can only Print to File from Cura. 4. Tried saving to a USB stick and the printer begins the job but no filament is extruded. Power cycled printer many times, restarted computer and Cura many times. Even restarted my network switch and Wifi router (which is my DHCP). nothing seems to work with same behavior. Something obviously went haywire. Ideas where to start?
  3. Hi Folks, 1. UM3+ connected to LAN via Wifi. Works great. Printing many jobs over network. 2. Cura app on both Mac and PC connect to printer just fine. I can manage printer and see camera stream via Cura AND web browser. 3. Apps on both iphone and iPad find the printer just fine. Clicking on the printer in the list on either device produces error: Can't connect to *my printer name* Your iPhone is connected to "Wi-Fi". 4. Verified the IP address of printer is within local device DHCP range of IP's. 5. Verified the iPhone and iPad are also within DHCP range of IP's. 6. Re-installed iPhone app and still not giving me access, though I can see the printer in the list and as mentioned, can click on it. I recently updated firmware after not printing for many months. Machine asked to be updated so I did. Running latest Cura 4.8.x. Unit has been powered off and on several times. Ideas where to start looking? I'm getting a great stream off LAN computers, but want to check in on print progress without visiting printer (within wifi range, not over internet). Thanks in advance...
  4. Ok cool, at least that gets rid of the need for clicking the button! Thanks I see they will just use all generic settings both on the printer and in Cura. I thought that there might be special settings for UM filament, which may not be the case with generic, hence the distinction of the two. Do you know if this is the case?
  5. Thanks @Smithy, but I think what we're saying is each job requires a manual override, when really the filament settings should just be sent to the printer as an override when the job is sent. For instance, I preheat filaments in a PrintDryer while I'm printing, even though I use UM filaments. So auto-detection never happens. Not interested in a workaround here as it should just allow me to print when i submit the job. I've already taken care to slice and choose materials, why should I now have to override? Bizarre. I can see a confirmation dialog reminding me that there is a discrepancy, and allowing me to confirm at that point, but I shouldn't really even have to do that. Cura should do the work here in my view. Many times I've left after printing and it's sitting there for an hour by the time I return and remember/realize I have to do this. Sad. I'm sure UM can tackle this task in Cura. They are talented folks.
  6. Thanks Nocolinux, yes I just updated to the latest. Not seeing ways to get out of screens that are nested down.
  7. Can someone point me to a spreadsheet of which nozzles (eg. AA, BB, etc) work with which materials? I made a sloppy print and just found out I was using BB on TRU95 material and it didn't come out very well. Thanks!
  8. I have a UM3+. I find myself turning it off to simply cancel out of a dialog when changing print material or cores. Some screens offer "RETURN" which I used to bounce back, but sub-screens lock me into cutting the power to go back. For instance, I select Material 1 to load, it doesn't recognize my UM3 material, so I select manually, Oh wait, I can't go back. Power down. I'm sure I'll get better at remembering the "quirks" of the new printer, but for consistency's sake, can you just ensure that there is a "RETURN" or cancel on each screen? Thanks!
  9. Installed 3.0.4 and it crashes after startup screen. Installed 2.7.4 and after working once now does the same thing. Anyone have this issue? I can't print anything, and tech support not responding. I already checked the "low resolution" mode on the Get Info screen for each app. Problem persists. Thanks!
