Just to reduce the surface area and increase the pressure between the filament and the glass. It would give any gasses or air bubbles from the hot filament a place to escape, as opposed to lifting from a flat surface. John

Has anybody tried "glass beading" shot blasting the glass plate to assist in first layer adhesion.? One side only incase it does not work. John Spain
