  1. Hello there,

I hope you can help me here.

I need to print with Ultimaker PC filament  with my Ultimaker 3 printer and I am getting an error message because the build plate is taking to long to reach the correct temperature that in this case is 107 degrees.

I am using the advance printing kit with the front plastic cover and the room where the printer is is more than 20 degrees.

    Any tips and advises?

    Thank you in advance.

    Kind regards

  2. Hello everyone,

is there an option in CURA where simply the Z hopping is ONLY happening when the nozzle is moving from one part to another?

I am printing 10 parts at the same time, they are all the same shape and size See picture attached.

If there is such an option, could you please reply with the exact settings?

    Thank you in advance :)

  3. Thank you all for sending your comments :)

I have successfully printed one at the time and also 3 at the time without any problems so far.

I am now going to try to print 4 but I am adding a z hopping of 2mm (with combine off).

if this works, I feel confident that I can print 10 parts at the time.

I am using the ultimaker advance kit which consists of the front cover and the ultimaker adhesive sheet.

Any comments, tips or advise are very welcome :)

I have attached the CURA project to this post for your reference.

  5. Hello everyone.

I would like to print Woodfill filaments with my Ultimaker 3.

-- Has any of you done that?

-- Did you use an original Ultimaker print-core or a 3D Solex one?

-- What filaments have you used and which one would you recommend?

    and finally

-- Why Ultimaker doesn't have steel nozzles printcores for the ultimaker 3 (to use with abrasive materials)?

  6. Thank you for your reply.

I don't think it is an ice nozzle, it came with the set of 4 nozzles when you buy the 3d solex print core. (see picture attached).

I don' t know if you remember but I did have allot of problems with my first 3d solex print-core. There was something wrong with it in more than one way.

When I have contacted 3d solex and explain the problems I was having, Carl told me straight away that he was going to send me a new Print-core and to keep the old one.

On top of that he sent me a free Sapphire 0.5mm nozzle.

Even that one sticks with this material.

I will try an ice nozzle and see what happens.

Thank you for your help once again.

  7. Hello everyone,

I have been testing a new material called PURA from AprintaPro.

This material has a great texture finish but in my Ultimaker 3 is sticking to the nozzle until it detaches itself and end up in the print in the form or blob / zit. (see pictures attached).

I have been in contact with PrintaPro and they gave me some advise including a Simplify 3d profile tested on the Ultimake 3 in their offices, but the resolt is the same.

I should say that I am using a 3D Solex Hardore printcore with a 0.8mm nozzle.

I have tried all different temperatures, the best one so far has been 190 deg.

this is the link for the material datasheet:

    Please help.

I really want to make this work.

    Thanks

  8. Hello, sorry I am new to this

I wonder if you could help me please.

I have recently bought a 3d Solex print core (set of 4).

I am using CURA on an Ultimaker 3 printer and I don't know how to change the Print core size. The drop down menu doesn't give me the choice I am after.

I would like to change a core size to 0.6mm and having all the correct settings in CURA that work well with it.

Your help is greatly appreciate it.

    Thank you in advance.

It's my "neighbor", Kevin!  Hi there!

I don't think Cura does anything with the "outer diameter" yet.  not sure.

The old cura (versions 14.X and 15.X) indeed had a nozzle diameter but it was a confusing feature because if you told cura you had a 0.45mm nozzle but set the shell width to 0.8mm it would ignore your 0.45mm and set it's internal line width to 0.4mm.  At least now you can set the line width directly.  I feel that is an improvement.  I had to tell people thousands of times on the forum to set the shell width to an integral of the nozzle width or cura would override your settings to suit it's needs.

So really the only thing you need to set is all the various "line width" settings in cura 2.X and 3.X.  No need to create your own custom profile.

However if you want a 3dsolex core to show up as "AA 1.0" or "HC 1.0" and want to create profiles to auto load your settings - I can help you with that.  I already have software that does most of the work to do that.  You could just make a small change and it will create all the profiles for an alternate UM3 core in seconds.
