  1. I can confirm, I downloaded 3.4.1 and redid the print, the GCODE was substantially smaller and the print was 1.5 hours instead of the 2.5 hours, and the printer printed fine, no noises etc. One can see from the GCODE the one is 2.2MB versus 6.6Mbyte S4_modbusTestJig.PLA.3.4.1.gcode S4_modbusTestJig.PLA230.gcode
  2. I just upgraded from 3.41 to 3.6 and now I experience strange noises from the printer associated with either X or Y skipping. Marlin have not changed, and it sound like the printer get very fast movement instruction , such that the printer cannot handle. I tested this on my CR10 4S, (The Ceality have primary y axis skips). At first I checked my stepper, belt etc, the bed is smooth, eventualty I replace the driver chip, then the motherboard, reprogram Marlin, revert to Creality stock setting, but no avail. Then I moved my model (to fit smaller bed) and use the GCODE on my Prusa, and it it re-produce both x and y skipping, at the same height!, with the simular stepper noise. However if I print an old (save octaprint) GCODE the print is fine. I looks like Cura override some GCODE setting, or generate 'fast' movement code, but it has to do with speed. but unfortunately I am not a boffen on this subject. Have any one else seen this phenomena ?
  3. I also activate 'Z Fading' plugins but have no Idea where to find it or how to use it. Octoprint plugin was available in the printer setting, but this was the only one I could detect. It is not obvious where to find them after activation
  4. On Linux I could not find this option, now-where, please guide us to do it from the main menu, or if you downloaded the Linus image, where is the plugin directory to remove the USB plugin, I just cannot find it, and this is driving me crazy, Marlin aborts the current print and just resets. There must be a better way to solve this, have a tab to enable this option when needed !. I just aborted a 12 hour print after 9 hours .. , by accident, the main reason why I checked this 'question' again.
  5. My prints does not start immediately, due to the fact that it does not have filament, even if I print a huge skirt, and I mean huge. I then saw the very first gcode generated by Cura is 5mm retraction G92 E0.0 ; reset extruder distance position ; end startup code G1 F2400 E-5 ;LAYER_COUNT:51 ;LAYER:0 M107 5mm retraction ? , I have a Crealiry CR10 4S, and a bowden need a lot of retraction, how can I switch this off, because this is the reason why the print does not start immediately. Currently I edit the file, but tends to forget and then the print is a flop. Thanks

  7. I just bricked my printer because Cura was active and I tried to program it with new firmware this is really a bad decision. I use octoprint. It must at least have an option to swicth it off, like auto auto prepare.
  8. thanks, the default is AMF, must select it on every export, however default is STL on windows .
  9. My Freecad (1.17 on Linux) can only produce AWF (additive manufacturing format) and not stl files like on windows. As I understand it AWF is the 'new' STL format, backward comptible etc). Do I have to install an plugin in CURA to enable this, or do I have to 'convert' the file?. If conversion is an option how is this done ?. I also tried to find a plugin in freecad to genarate STL but could not one yet. Thanks
