Für PLA nutze ich meist das Default Profil wenn ich nicht spezielle Anforderungen oder ein komplizierteres Objekt habe.

LarryB is on a Mac, so this will not help. But when on the Mac when you open the Help menu, you get an item show configuration folder. Inside this folder there is the plugins folder, so give it a try to put the plugin there.

That's right, but I meant that it doesn't matter if blob is on or off, I don't miss it on the S5 and if the blob would be disabled per default on the UM3 too, then I probably would not miss it there too.

That would be indeed great, I always hate me, when I start a print and have forgotten to disable, the default brim, which I rarely use.

Du kannst beim Schneiden aussuchen ob du nur schneiden möchtest oder ob die "Schnittfläche" dann wieder verschlossen werden soll. Das ist wichtig, dass du das machst. Ich hab schon länger nicht mehr Meshmixer benutzt, denke aber, dass es die Optionen dort auch gibt.

To test and "learn" your printer, you should use only one material. Every material is different and new material needs a lot of testing and tinkering until you find the best settings for your object. Later when you are more familiar with the needed settings you can change easily the material and adjust the needed settings.

Wenn die Schichten nicht gut aneinander haften, dann ist das meist eine zu niedrige Temperatur (drucke etwas heisser), oder zu viel Kühlung (schalte die Lüfter komplett ab) bzw. drucke langsamer.
Ich habe selbst nicht viel ABS Erfahrung, versuche das Material zu vermeiden, habe aber ein paar Dinge in ASA gedruckt und die sind sehr gut geworden.
Ich kann dir schon dein Teil drucken, habe aber momentan kein ABS mehr da, muss aber sowieso mein Lager wieder füllen.

I have also good experiences with Dimafix and 3DLac spray if something will not stick to the glass. But for TPU material I also use just a very thin layer of PVA glue and it works well.

Checke vorallem das ganze STL File, wenn das einmal passt, kannst du schon das Model im Meshmixer zerschneiden, das sollte eigentlich kein Problem sein. Zur Not kannst du dann die Einzelteile nochmals checken lassen ob alles passt.

Das kommt schon ganz gut hin, wenn ich besonders "genau" drucken möchte, dann drucke ich oft auch langsamer, so um die 30mm/s. Man muss sich herantasten und es kommt natürlich sehr stark auf das zu druckende Obejekt an.
Der Druckkopf beim UM3 und S5 ist relativ schwer und daher werden standartmäßig langsamere Geschwindigkeiten vorgegeben, die aber in den meisten Fällen auch ganz gut passen. Eine Rennmaschine ist der S5 nicht, dafür druckt er aber sonst wunderbar.

Ok, das ist eine gute Info, denn dann hast du es ja mit einer drischen 10.11er probiert ohne Erfolg.
Man müsste genau schauen welche Libraries Cura braucht (OpenGL, QT, etc.) und dann versuchen herauszufinden mit welcher MacOS Version sich was geändert hat.
Für dich dürfte das Update geholfen haben. Komisch ist allerdings, dass es auch jemanden gibt, der mit aktuellen Macbook und Mojave Performance Probleme hat, ich mit einer sehr ähnlich Konfiguration aber gar keine Probleme habe. Möglicherweise ist es auch nicht ein und dasselbe Problem.
Aber schön, dass du jetzt einmal mit 10.13.5 ein brauchbares Ergebnis bekommst.

Normally you have to design your object in two parts. Then you import every part into Cura and select which extruder should print the selected part. Then you merge both objects together and they automatically move to the original position they had in your CAD software, to get again one combined object in Cura, but with different settings (extruder).

No, I cannot believe this is the problem. My printers are also upstairs and I have the camera feed open too very often.

Danke für die Infos, hin und wieder gibt es Anfragen bzgl. Stromverbrauch und so akurat gemessen hat das glaube ich noch niemand. Hilft sicher dem einen oder anderen.
Dann wüsche ich noch viel Spaß beim Drucken und Erkunden 🙂

You are right, the dark area indicates the area which the print head needs and it reduces the available printing area. Not only dual extrusion limits the printing area, but also if you select the prime tower for example. Prime blob could also reduce the area, but I am not sure.

I have currently no idea about the root cause, but maybe your print head pauses to get temperature, which is normally not the case. Do you print with Dual heads or only one?
Do you print via network or USB stick?
Offical UM support is done by the UM resellers. You can check the UM website for a reseller in your area.

It depends what you need, tough PLA is stiffer than PETG and strong as ABS. You can check the data sheets with all values for the different categories.
I can easily break a PETG object with my hands, but not a Tough PLA part.

The walls at the bottom and the top are too thin for the printer (<0.4) and therefore some layers are missing. You can try to enable the setting "Print thin walls" in Cura (use the search field to find the setting) or maybe better design the ring to have at least 0.41mm walls.
