Yea it is a thin shell... what would be the best way to make it a solid?

Hello! As I am new to 3d printing and Cura itself I thought it would be best to pose a question here to see if I could get some help. Whenever I open a file in Cura 3.4.1 look at the layer view to see how the object will print, I notice a lot of holes within the model and even some lines that show that they will not print (as shown in the photos). I have looked up a lot of things and can't quite pinpoint the problem. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? Thank you!
