  1. Look on this page for https://ultimaker.com/en/products/ultimaker-cura-software Download Ultimaker Cura 4.0 (beta)
  2. Hello, Well as i am sure everyone that has 3D printed knows that often 3d print jobs go wrong in the initial few layers and you have to restart them. So i would be nice if the printer was to keep the nozzle and bed temperatures after a print job was aborted. Or maybe better to have a Pre Heat function that can be used while setting up jobs. This would save much time and fiddling. Also i really like the simulation feature, couple of knobs to control simulation speed would be nice. Oh btw printing in 4 beta seem to be fine, re my previous post. . Many thanks imk
  3. Hello, Well been a ver 15.x.x user for few years and happy with it until few day ago when 15.04.6 sliced an stl ok but but the print would not fully print. So i tried ver 3.6 and it sliced and printed the STL just fine, so problem solved. Took me a bit of time to find and enable all the options needed to get stl sliced and printed but after 3hr of searching i got it working. Only problem seems to be is that it sometime does not find the Prusa i3 printer, so have to reboot pc, which fixes it. Only thing i would add/change would be: 1. Import of old cura config at 1st time start up, this would save much frustration. (Create an initial MY BASIC CONFIG) 2. the way the stl object 3D display works is MUCH better on 15.4.6 as it keeps the object in middle of the view port more. Where 3.6 brings it forward and downwards so the print object drops off the bottom of the view port, not nice. As for 4 beta well the print object zooming in/out seems to have same mis-functional issues as 3.6. Although i do like how the slice/print/setup options are accessed eg drop down... Much better. I shall try to see how well it prints tomorrow, keep up the good work and do fix the zooming off bottom of page issue and i think you have a gooden :-) I have attached the STL that 15.4.6 seemed not to print fully. it was on the bed with the two screws holes on the print bed Fully supports at 60 deg, with brim, 30% fill, it printed 2mm or so then just stopped, tried it few time and same problem. I looked and the layer view and one side did not seem to be fully supported, which is where i think the printing froze. Hope that helps Ian Knight Tuner-2-SpacerSupportLeg-1-3.stl
  4. Hello Smartavionics Creative solution, many thanks, going to be couple of days before i can try it but nice one. Many thanks imk
  5. Dick head in your eyes maybe, but i my mind i just have a short fuse for crap.
  6. Have given up... Going back to 15.4.6. This 3.4.1 is about the most unusable software in have seen in a VERY LONG TIME and i have been writing it for 50 years! Needs an HOW TO GUIDE Internal supports just DOES NOT WORK! =============== WAY WAY WAY TO COMPLICATED ============== Life is just to short for shit like this, plus clumsy user interface compared to 15.4.6. Bit like UK met office web site, about 7 year ago was really good, simple and quick to use. Then the programmer wanted to keep themselves in jobs and rewrote it, now it is unreliable, clumsy and slow WOW.
  7. ultiarjan, Thanks for the help, it is late now here in uk so off up the wooden hill, hence no rush finding a solution BTW if you have contact with/or are a cura developer, well adding a scale to the print bed graphics would be nice as if you want to print in particular place on printer bed it would be nice not to have to count squares. Did notice that the support it added under the recess is much better in 3.4.1 compared with v 15 Have a good evening. imk
  8. Rocket-F9H-BoosterNoseCone-2.stl Hello and many thanks for reply Rotate this stl 90 deg to point upwards, set infill to zero % and try to add an internal support to tip of nose eg over 70 deg. Sorry about rant but read and read and spent hour trying to do it. That said this 3.4.1 is way better than what 3D print ware the MS monkeys have put in win 10, boy those guy must really be high on something as doesn't seem to do anything as been analyzing this model for 10 min and still going. imk
  9. Hello, Using Cura 3.4.1. and trying to print a rocket nose cone to include an internal support when at 70 deg and over. Selected Support Placement Everywhere and tried many other parameters but can't get it to generate anything that look like an internal support in Layer View. Any ideas please how to get this to work? (Or is it just vaporware, lots of button that don't do anything) Far to complicated if you ask me, classic example of programmer didn't know how to make it easy so kept adding tick boxes until million monkeys scenario eventual hit the right combination. Disappointed in version 3 old version 15 was way way way way way way way way way way way way way way way way way better. imk
