  1. I would like to thank for the wonderful work done on the firmware. Installed 18.11.1 on um2+ with bondtech and all works great.
  2. Thanks geert. I looked at the Z axis and cleaned it. It has a little play (about 2mm) of upward. I don't know if this can be a problem. You are right about the bottom. Was one of my first print.
  3. Hello Daniel, it's not really what you're looking for but try to see here:
  4. I don't see nothing wrong in cura and if I rotate the object I always get the same result. I got same result with my object and also with a lot of thingiverse object. I'm thinking that maybe it could be the head bearing on the Y axis... maybe.. I really don't know. About speed, I print at these speeds: Infill: 28 Wall:28 Outer Wall:19 Inner Wall: 28 Top/bottom:28 You think I'm too fast? Acceleration and jerk as default. Thanks.
  5. Hello, I can not improve the print on one side. With all the prints I've done, with various filaments (pva, abs, cpe+) and different settings of cura, I always find that the faces on the X axis have lines while on the Y axis I would say that goes much better. I always thought it was a problem on the Y axis and so I checked the play and re-aligned the axes several times, but I could not get any improvement. What could it be? Attached one of the first prints I made with um3, the wall is very thin and with white you can see more clearly. Thanks. X: Y:
  6. Hi gr5, thanks a lot for your help, I really appreciate it. I will try what you suggested me. You are right, I don't have a problem with printing object, in any case I would like to fix it. Many Thnaks.
  7. Hi Smithy, nice to see you again! Did you see my video? I know what you mean but I don't think this is my case.
  8. Hi, on my UM3 when I printing at temperatures of the Heated Bed more than 60 degrees, I have an oscillation of the temperature about to 5 degrees in a short time (about 1 second). The oscillation occurs only during the printing of certain parts such as external walls or when changes of direction. I checked the resistance of the printing bed like this guide: and they seem correct I have no other ideas on what to check. Thnaks for your help. Video: BedTemp.zip
  9. I just solved the problem. It was the axial fan. Thanks. AxialFan.zip
  10. Thanks for your answer @dxp.
  11. Where can I find some documentation on how to disassembly UM3 print head? I need to check if my sound come from it. Thanks for you help. Sound.zip
  12. Thanks @redslifer. I had improvements by increasing the cooling time
  13. Yes I tried a cylinder (20x20). it's smaller than about 0.25 (but this is normal with rays, I think or I always had this difference) and the circumference is not perfect. About 0.13mm of tolerance. But I need to understand better how works cura, I used idea maker with my other printer. The object have z seam I think it is difficult to measure. Yes you are right, 0.1 was smaller then 0.1mm. I Just correct this adjusting the print temperatures and flow. About Z I'm interested in difference from 10 to 100. Measurements over 70 have confused me. Yes I'm happy ? with x,y and um3! There is nothing I can check for get less difference between dimension on my z axis? Thanks a lot Sanderv.
  14. Thanks Sanderv for your answer I really appreciated it. Sorry me if at this time I can't share what I need to produce. My first prototype will soon be ready and at that moment I will be able to share the project. I hope to arrive about 50 microns, do you believe it is possible? With x and y I'm fine now, my 3 testing object, cube20x20, step-xyz (100x100x50, 100x100x50) are in order: (no step modification - no horizontal expasion. All default cura settings, only change speed.) x:20.01, y:20.05, z:20.0 x:100.0,y:100.05, z:50.08 x:50.0, y:50.07, z:50.08. Printed with printcore 0.4 and 0.2 layer, printer speed infill and wall 28, outer wall 19. Just for testing I used layer 0.2. I have a bit better with printcore 0.25 and layer 0.1 but I I have not printed all the object so I reported those made with layer 0.2. Thanks a lot to @gr5 (is available gr5-ebook? ;)) and @Smithy for this result. I will also be happy to remove that "sound". ? Thanks Sanderv.
  15. I'm still working on my UM3 calibration. I slightly improved the difference between x and y, now is about 0.05 - 0.07. I always find a difference on the Z axis, so I printed a test object. There is some way to improve Z tolerances. After 70mm they become quite important for what I need? I also tried to solve the "sound" but without success. I'm almost certain to arrive at the print head but I have no idea what it is generated from. Really thanks and sorry if I annoyng you with my measurements!
  16. Today I had the same problem. Yesterday I put my new bed glass, did manual and active leveling then printed some objects, then I turned off printer and go to bed. ? Today I started the print with automatic leveling. The printer checked the leveling and then the print started by sliding the nozzle onto the glass. I redid the manual leveling and it was correct. I redo the active leveling and relaunch the print. Now works. Ok the active leveling is not always better to use but I do not understand if fails the active leveling or z rises beyond what it should or I did something wrong. Thanks you all.
  17. I forgotten the answer. I removed the filament manually, I misunderstood the message on the display.
  18. what I meant was that the heated floor was lower in rear left corner, but glass was and is straight. I have and I had a problem to calibrate plate if I screw the 3 screws of plate and then put them at same misure the the nozzle is too low in the two front corners. So i need to chenge height at the center rear and restart procedure untill I find a good measures.
  19. Yes I understand all problem about measures. What I hope to have is same dimensione on x,y axis. Thanks again.
  20. I think my shafts are fine now. I con't move them. I think that sound come from print head, but printcore are fixed. Maybe Is one fan moves in fast movements. Nice. Thanks. Maybe with my English I did some mistake. Sorry me. Really thanks for your support @gr5. Really appreciate.
  21. I printed a lot of test pieces. Cube 20x20, step-xyz calibration of two different sizes (100x100x50) and (50x50x50) with the printcore 0.4 and 0.25. With both printcore I always have a difference between x and y. Y is always higher between 0.06 and 0.1 mm. Difference between printcore is the same. I also noticed that 0.2 layer height makes larger measures of about 0.1mm then 0.1 layer. I therefore decided to check if the position in the bed pllate influenced the measurements. For this test I activated active leveling because my plate is warped. Here is the result: I checked again the glass and is ok. I checked aluminium base plate and heated bed. Both are deformed. I don't know if this can be the problems on my measures. I also found this topic that has encouraged me: During the print I hear also this sound like a dishes but I could not understand from where come from. (not active leveling sound.) sound.zip What I can do? I need to change aluminium base plate and heated bed? Thanks.
  22. You mean that I can't have better then 0.1mm difference between x and y? Thanks, nice to know this. I will buy the cable, just need to find one store. you taught me how tensions should be verified. I just try with an app and result are not good... I have value between 60 and 100Hz. I tested with 2 different app but maybe the app is not the best choice. I need to learn how to check it and in case how to repair. I had done it the first day and I think they are ok. today I'm doing 3 test objects with the two printcore (0.24 - 0.4). At the moment the 0.1 remains and the z is still too big. Many thanks @gr5 I learned a lot today from you.
  23. In my Chinese printers I did it myself without thinking about it. On the new UM3 ... I'm still thinking about it. ? Thanks.
