  1. Currently i cant seem to see any option to park the hot ends away from the model, so when the nozzle does its switch it just leaves the hot ends where the last move left it... usually on the spot of the layer end on the model. Melting a large hole in the print. So if there is already a setting, where is the setting to park the hot ends away from the model while the new nozzle gets heated up, and if there isnt a setting... Why isnt there? its a pretty damn important feature to have in a multi extruder setup.
  2. Last request i promise..... Again my other bugbear of Cura is the some what messy (at least to me) print profile system... This is of course much tidier if your using a ultimaker... But on the "other" printer options the system is a bit messy... For instance. If i want to change material I have to manually go through everything and change it to the specs of the material im about to use... In the "other" slicer i use it has a profile system... Its categorised like a tree... You select the base material, This is where costs and basic common settings are held, and you then select the print profile you have tuned for your printer at the specific setting you want, For instance the other slicer i have profiles for abs petg and pla, at different nozzle widths and layer heights and print speeds, all tuned really well. Im not mentioning this other slicer unless some one says its ok, I didnt want to pee anyone off... But its just one of those little thing for me thats really lacking in Cura... to me at least... Many other elements I REALLY love, its a great fast engine that create some really well sliced and even faster printing models compared to other slicers (even with speed settings the same, not sure whats happening there) But the lack of well defined profiles and the super strong support structures are the only things that are keeping me from using cura full time.
  3. Im making two different posts for two different features, I hope this is ok. I just didnt want to get the two different features mixed up in the conversations.... Feature request 1: Ill be honest Cura for me is a love hate relationship... There are many elements I love about cura. However some things really bug me. I was at TCT this week and I spoke to one of the engineers about this, and they recommended I put in a feature request so here it is.... :D So my biggest grip with Cura is that the support structures that are printed are..... too strong. They tend to be next to impossible to remove from the model... I even tend to use Lines rather than Grid as it is a bit easier to remove. But even then it prints these lines way to thick. (grid is impossible to remove... no matter what settings I use...) So the request is two fold really. Can we please have a support line width control. So it doesnt just print at the extrude size, and or can we have Flow rate control for the support structures? In another slicer I like to use, you have flow rate control on the support, and I tend to take the flow rate down even as far as 50% sometimes. This does 2 things. Makes an easily removable support structure. That still is strong enough to support the first real layer of the model print. It also saves filament on a disposable part of the print. This is great when using more expensive filaments.
