Hello. I need to print a weel, but when I slice it, top and button are closed. May be a wrong setting? Thank you for help. I am using v 4.3.0 Sprocket_davanti_x2.stl

I have the same problem. I am also using v. 4.2.1 (Windows 10) but the problem was the same in older version (see https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/issues/4162) I discovered that when I save a profile it is saved all right in C:\Users\My Name\AppData\Roaming\cura\4.2\quality_changes but when I open Cura it is read just in C:\Users\My Name\AppData\Roaming\cura\4.2\quality I solved myself manually editing profiles in files in \quality folder but is not the right solution. I include my configuration files: cura.zip

@thopiekar In Freecad It seems the ActiveObject is the last created one (may be a bug) You can check it in Pyton Console with >>> App.ActiveDocument.ActiveObject.Name after create more body/object But it is not a problem: I think you have just to know that if you have more object/body ( say a cube and a cylinder) you must do a fusion as last step.

@thopiekar Thank for your answer. Another question / clarify: which is the Freecad object that is import in Cura? From my test it is the last body created in Freecad before saving it, not the active body or selected body: So if I have more body I need to fuse all toghether as last operation before save. Is this right?

Hello @thopiekar. I just tried the new Cura plugin for import Freecad files and now it works all right. Thanks for your work. I'm just a little confused (my mistake) in finding the right files to install. the right place is https://thopiekar.eu:5443/cura-cad-integration/CuraFreeCadPlugin/-/jobs/1024/artifacts/browse but I tried https://thopiekar.eu:5443/cura-cad-integration / CuraFreeCadPlugin / by mistake. The version number is the same (0.3.0) and is the same in the Freecad marketplace. Personally,so far, I had solved with a macro in Freecad that generates the stl file and launches Cura, but the Cura plugin should be better

Solved. I changed value of Support Horizontal expansion from 0.2 to 0.0 I'm now using version 4.0

So I'll wait for a solution.....

@ahoeben. OK I think you properly descibed the trouble. And I did not find a way to set it. I can select only support from Buildplane and Everywere.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have already tried the "Support Blocker" but with any result. And I tried to set "Support Horizontal Expansion" to 0 and any positive result. Also tried to disable "general Support" then add a cube, put it in my hole and print it as a support. But also in this case the support was starting from plane. It is not a big problem, just a waste of time in printig.

I'm using Cura 3.6.0 I wonder if it is possible to eliminate the useless support generated and leave the support only in the hole. Cura generated a support starting from plate but it is useless Many Thanks Ugello.3mf

Hello. I have a question about Freecad Plugin. I am using Freecad 0.18 (but also tried with v 0.17) and Cura v. 3.5.1 end Freecad integration plugin 0.2.1 If in FreeCad I cut 2 objects ( say a cubic and a cilinder - hole in cubic) and import it in Cura I have the union of two object and not the cut.
