  1. The only filament backflow I had was due to the silicone cover that teared during the print. and we do a lot of dual prints. (about 70% of the time and the printer is used close to 24/7 for 4 years now)
  2. for what I can see you have underextrusion raising the temperature usually helps i print my pla at 200°C and a print speed of 70% how fast is 100%? try fiddling with the settings but even with bad pla a better printing quality should be doable.
  3. same here no more cover works fine having a 13day print destroyed because a cover was ripped was the limit.
  4. Why not printing it top down? if i look at the print that would be more logical. But like GR5 states without the project file its hard to say why it turns out this way.
  5. strange to me it really looks like a support issue, perhaps the bed adhesion failed on the print , but glad to read it's solved
  6. no worries happens to all of us every once in a while, There are so many settings some get lost in the mass
  7. When I read the explanation its normal to leave out tops when checked
  8. AnaLara why do you have Spiralize outer Contour checked? If I uncheck it the top layer shows again
  9. wait I was to fast now it still shows on 0.3mm layer height, I need to see what else changed during the change from normal to fine
  10. I was able to replicate the issue in Cura 4.13 and if i change the from the normal ( 0.15mm layer) to fine 0.1mm Layer the top is starting to show. Try making you layer size smaller of make the top thicker.
  11. @AnaLara: Can you post the model here so we can see what is going on?
  12. how is the infill? or support if the part is hollow on the other side. It looks like there is not enough support below the top layer. can you post perhaps the model or UFP file?
  14. Welcome Fred, I don't know the LAbist printer, So whats below is a guess... for as far as I can see the feeding system is with bowden tubes and a feeder that pushes the filament through the tubes just as the S5, I also read there is a broken filament sensor can you turn that off? The issue with TPU is that it is compressible like rubber so if the feeder retracts the filament. But in the head the filament moves less and later as the printer is thinking it should. this can trigger that sensor. But as stated before this is just a guess
  15. Update, Since update to 8.1.1 no more errors, No other changes were made. 5 prints started, without issues. Seams the firmware was the issue and not the sensors.
  16. If i look at the soldier I would say the bigger issue is under extrusion. Perhaps it is better to print a benchie or any other small calibration model and start working from there. If you can make good pictures from the benchie the community can help you with what setting to tune in order to get better prints. 3d printing with standard profiles and cheap filament just doesn't work straight out of the box. It takes about a dozen prints with tweaking in between before you get a print that is any way near what it should be.
  17. I use PVA from 123-3D and print with 220°C so 190 sounds low to me. Is this Matterhackers PVA always this yellowish? I use neutral and my pva is almost see through. Also what helped a lot reducing the warp when printing larger prints was using a cardboard box on top of the printer to close it at first, now we have a airmanager which basically does the same, it keeps the temp in the printer higher.
  18. For now it seams the update worked I'm printing the second print in a row without an error. also I went in to the maintenance menu and checked the noise level but it was at 2.47. This shouldn't trigger any error. I fully understand that the data that the sensor is sending out isn't affected by the firmware, but the way it is interpreted is. for now it seams that upgrading to 8.1.1 worked let hope it stays that way.
  19. you can trick Cura in thinking your builplate is bigger, go to machine settings and change the size, But you must make sure it fits on the actual buildplate and that there is room for the print head to go there. I had a big print once and because cura said it wouldn't fit it wouldn't slice. I had made my build plate in cura a few mm bigger and it would slice. but I was sure it would fit. best is to try and make a flat print with that size and really slow printing speed. And just sleep next to the printer with a finger on the pauze button.
  20. try it whit the fine setting (0.06mm layer height) or increase the size of your tekst size both will work, also check mark the thin wall printing
  21. nope We would have seen that in the prints. first layer would bed is level but I will try the new 8.1.1 first and if that doesn't work I Will contact support to revert back to 7.1.13 Thanks for the time Tom
  22. On an other note is there a simple way to go back to firmware 7.13 to see if the issue is still there by the way we have the S5R1
  23. But we got the error direct after upgrading the firmware and never before, so how can this be wire or PCB related? That would be to much of a coincidence in my book. Also can you explain what sort of diagram we are looking at what is the 5000 for instance? and does the log file state what the sensors the 4 noisy lines are?
  24. @tomnagel: Sadly the error has returned, Log file attached Trying manual level again, but no luck after the first try, Rebooting now, manual level and see what it does. logs-ultimakersystem-ccbdd3006411-8.1.0-20230301085232.zip
  25. printing under an angle usually helps to get strength in all directions but support is needed If I understand correct your making a catch out of these two brackets, how heavy is the product falling through? I would try and place it with the big flat under a 45° angle with the with the build plate. With the 90deg angle placed on the buildplate, but printing with the same geometry as a steel part isn't always the best solution.
