Thanks PeggyB
Thanks for confirming. I found it, I'm using Cura 3.6.0 and 'Z Seam Alignment' is in the Shell section of 'Print Setup' -
Defeating the dreaded "Z Scarring" In Cura
In Slic3r, there is a function located in Print Settings/Layers and perimeters/Advanced/Seam position that allows you to randomize where the entry points to each layer will be, eliminating z-scarring. Is there a comparable function in Cura?
Now that I've configured Cura, it is printing better than Slic3r but I am still getting the z-scarring.
Printhead Settings "a 2d Sillhouette" ? help I forgot...
in UltiMaker Cura

I set this up before and the meaning of this dawned on me then, and now after a system reinstall I have to set it up again and I forgot what exactly these parameters represent.
is X min the distance from the left of the extruder carriage to the hotend?
is Y min the distance from the front of the extruder carriage to the hotend?
is X max the distance from the hotend to the right of the extruder carriage?
is Y max the distance from the hotend to the back of the extruder carriage?
the tooltip is the same on all the fields so the exact meaning of the parameters is just a little ambiguous to me.
Thanks.
