  1. Are there specific E3D V6 hotends for Ultimaker? Is it possible to run higher temps with those?
  2. You can use PP (polypropylene). It is food safe and dishwasher safe. Print it with really thin layers and high temp and you will have have a very nice and smooth item and no issues. I have previously used PLA for printing objects used in food processing and hand cleaned it and it works great. Now I am switching to PP to get it dishwasher safe too.
  3. I think I will drill one of the nozzles I have and give it a try :) Will make for sturdy vases in vase mode :D
  4. Well, if I print 0,12mm layers at 2mm width assuming 24mm³/s max I can go 100mm/s printspeed. But I have no intensions of such speed. Half, max, is fine for me. So that means I will have plenty of margin with a 2mm nozzle :)
  5. Anyone with experiences on using a 2mm nozzle? I'm interested in learning about how it works, settings etc.
  6. Thanks! I have a stock UM2+ I'm leaning towards the DXU, but I need to learn more about the details in doing the mod.
  7. Hi Which dual extrusion mod for the UM2+ would you recommend? The Mark2 or the DXU, or something else, and why would you recommend that particular one? Thanks!
  8. Hi Trying to learn about this mod :) Are the changes to the metals parts I see mentioned in the thread needed for me to modify my UM2+ into DXU? Or what are they actually needed for? Thanks
  9. What's the latest UM2+ FW version, and where do I find the info? Without hooking the printer up with the computer... Thanks!
  10. Thanks for input, I will give it a try and run some different extrusion lengths using a slow speed, and see what results that gets me 🙂
  11. Hi I've spent the evening working with estep calibration on my UM2+ Below are the results. I hope you understand the data 🙂 The time the extruder ran was as perfect as I could measure each time. (And it seems my response time is always very close to 0.15 seconds 😉 ) First of all a notice on what I assume is some kind of bug. The first extrusion run after every M92 change of the estep value, gives a way off result. So, I have tested three extrusion lengths 100mm, 200mm and 300mm. It seems the longer extrusion run, the less filament is extruded. So, at the third and last setting in the data below, at E100, I tend to get 101-102mm, at E200, it's more or less spot on, and at E300, it is 2-4mm too short. So, where talking about +- 2%. Is that a normal variation? Though the variation seems to be related to the extruded length, so it is not random. Starting off with default estep = 369 E369 E200 F500 216mm E200 F1000 206mm E100 F100 203mm E100 F100 102mm E200 F1000 204mm 12s E200 F1000 204mm 12s E200 F500 204mm 24s E100 F500 103mm 12s E100 F100 103mm 60s E200 F750 205mm E200 F750 205mm 16s E200 F750 205mm 16s M92 360 E200 F750 137mm 11s !!!!! 12. Hi Will Tinker "get rid" of the materials functionality in the printer, so that the temp and retractionsettings etc from Cura will take precedence?
  13. Still a problem that it isn't expained by the tooltip....

    UM2+ FW

Ok, thanks! Then the used UM2+ I got today has the latest FW. Good :)

    UM2+ FW

Hi What's the latest FW version for the UM2+? Thanks!
  16. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind!
  17. Thanks. I have no specific reason to suspect anything was tampered with, I just wondered about the numbers, and that it seemed to be a big difference. And then there could be a good explanation, if the printer has been used with USB interface, I understand it may have been running for close to 400h rather than 9h. I guess the amount of original filament remaining, will give me a hint on this 😉
  18. Any risk the hours meter has been reset, by firmware update or the like?
  19. Thanks! That's great. I think I'll be buying this one then :) So 3 meters of filament i 8h44m is about 5,7mm filament / minute I guess that is a normal consumption then.
  20. Hi When the printer shows the following runtime stats, what does that actually mean? Machine on for: 389:57 Printing 8:44 Mat: 3m Thanks!
