Hi jschwar, the O-rings have been withdrawn by Ultimaker some time ago. https://support.ultimaker.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012099819-Remove-the-print-core-nozzle-ring For the UM3 they still can be used, but there's no need to, the silicon cover alone makes a sufficient seal. So just use the print cores without the O-Rings. Regards

  4. Does this mean the flow sensor would be supported by the UM3 if installed? So could I just buy complete S5-feeders and change the UM3 ones with them? Kind regards
  5. I've no advice to extract the stuck filament, as luckily I never was forced to do so. Personally I'd try the filament unload procedure of the material menu, using the feeder to pull out the filament, either with or without pre-heating the printhead, but I don't know if that's a good advice, because the filament in the print head may have expanded a lot. Perhaps @gr5 or @geert_2 can help, as afaik they're experienced with this issue. Regards
  6. Hi, the print core cooling fan (the big one in front of the print head, under the magnetic flap) is automatic controlled and always runs when at least one print core is hotter than 60°C. It can not be controlled manually. So if it doesn't run at all, that's the culprit. Check the fan for residue and small stringings of filament that can block it (as it is recommendet in the maintenance shedule at least every 3 months) or replace it. By the way: how did you manage to implement the flow sensor to the ultimaker 3? Or are you talking of an S3? Regards
  7. Hi RogerBW, this seems a very common issue which is simple to fix. There's a good tutorial by @fbrc8-erin: The video refers to an UM3, but as the sliding blocks are the same for the UM2, you can refer to it 1:1. Regards

Hi, if the short belt is not moving, it may have two possible causes: the stepper motor is not working (defective motor or defective cable/plug) if the stepper motor works: the pulley on the motor shaft is lose (retighten the pulley) If the belt is moving, but doesn't operate the print head: check the pulleys on the upper axles for slip and retighten the set screws if needed, possibly print head alignment is required.   11. Hi, possibly the lift switch is grinding at the sliding block (check for traces). To avoid this you could do the lift switch calibration procedure, but instead of fully seating the lift switch in the switching bay while calibrating, you could back it out just 1mm to prevent touching the sliding block.   12. Ok, the pictures really clarify your issue, which consists of stringing and some "insect antennas" (two terms worth searching the forum 😉). I assume the material you're printing is CPE or PETG? There's good and bad news: good as these artifacts can be reduced or even avoided by fine-tuning the print settings, bad as this is far beyond my knowledge and I can't really help furthermore. @Smithy, do you know a solution, or someone who can help?
  13. Hi, if you're talking about plastic of the "wrong" kind, that's where it shouldn't be, you could try using a prime tower (in Cura: settings -> dual extrusion -> enable prime tower). This helps priming the nozzles and wiping oozed material before it can contamine the print. Regards

  15. Hi, is your print head fan (the one in front under the white flap) running? In this forum, non working or blocked fan often was the culprit for problems you described. Regards
  16. Hi, I bet you're using Cura 4.9. The missing prime blob #2 was a known -and actually solved- bug. Switch to the actual version of Cura (4.9.1) 😉. Regards

Some aditional thoughts for your FW update: after you restored 4.3.3 and (re)started the update process, the UM3 will be updated to a version 4.x.x., which is only a stepping stone for the 5.x versions, as you already noticed. From this 4.x.x. it will (automatically?) install the actual version, which works well. The only issue I noticed when installing it (right when it was released) is an issue displaying the used material in the analytics section of cura connect, which is promised by Ultimaker to be fixed in the next update.   18. Hi Oscar, you possibly need to "unbrick" your UM3, but that's no hard matter and should easily be done.   19. Hi, you could try to clean the printcore-contacts of the printhead with a cotton swab and alcohol and perhaps reseat the plug of the printhead cable. Possibly it's just a contact problem and no circuit damage. Regards

Hallo Helmut, ich hab' den Grundbeitrag jetzt nicht verfolgt, aber beim Thema Lüfter mußt Du unterscheiden zwischen dem Druckkopflüfer (der unter der weißen Klappe an der Vorderseite) und den Bauteillüftern (rechts und links am Druckkopf). Der Druckkopflüfter läuft automatisch an (oder sollte es zumindest), sobald ein Printcore die 60°C überschreitet und geht nach dem Druck erst aus, wenn beide Printcores unter 60°C heruntergekühlt sind. Einstellmöglichkeiten gibt's da soviel ich weiß nicht. Die Lüfterrate, die im Druckermenü und in Cura eingestellt werden kann, betrifft meines Wissens ausschließlich die Bauteillüfter. Grüße
  21. But: Cura 4.9.x DOES run under Windows 7 -with no issues. Believe me, I use Win7. So your problem might be hardware-related
  22. Hi, I try a guess: if opening is meant by double-klicking on the STL file (possibly zipped) under Windows, the STL files are still connected to the old Cura version. You have to connect them (once) to the actual Cura by right-click on the STL, select "open with", select the standard program and then select the actual Cura. This should work. Regards
  23. Der fehlende Einzugstropfen war offenbar einer der Hauptgründe für 4.9.1. Ich kann bestätigen, daß er wieder wie gewohnt funktioniert; 4.9.1 ist eine Installation wert 😉
