I am running Cura 4.2.1 on my Surface Pro and have a similar problem. I have been able to get Cura to start by clicking on the Cura icon in the task bar multiple times, as many as 10 to 12. I often have to do this a number of times. Often, I will get 2 or 3 copies of the program to appear. I close all but one and from then on, my session works.
Stuarts suggested changing the compatibility setting to Windows 8. Will that help? If so, how do I do that?
