  1. If you want to interactively send individual commands, you can use developer mode and the “sendgcode” command. Do Google search for site:ultimaker.com develper mode sendgcode to find more details.
  2. Well....you could build a robot... camera to see the display, arm to spin and push the wheel... Just kidding....mostly. 😉
  3. So right at this point, where your model is shown on the Cura screen, click on the file menu and choose Save (not Export). This will make a .3mf file that has all the settings. Then post the file to this thread and someone with a lot more knowledge than me will likely be able to make sense of your problem.
  4. Under ‘Generate Supports” be sure to have “Extruder 2” selected as the extruder to print supports. Also be sure that the top bar shows both filaments as being loaded.
  5. @Durango I think some of us are confused by your method of using Cura to convert your file. My normal process is to load the STL file into Cura’s GUI. From there, I set parameters such as material type, bed temp, speeds, support, etc. I also position the model on the build plate. Then I tell it to slice, inspect the preview, and then either print to the printer via Network, or save to file. It almost sounds like you skip all of that and use some sort of command line invocation of Cura. Perhaps it would help if you tell us exactly what your process is.
  6. The reason is that the mesh needs to clearly delineate what is inside vs outside the solid. Isolated planes do not define a solid. If you are interested in more details, you can google “boundary representation” or “BREP”. glad you were able to fix it.
  7. I don’t have a UM2, so this may not apply, but I think this part should be the same. The Prime blob is a checkbox under bed adhesion, IIRC (not at the computer right now.) Perhaps it’s hidden at the moment and needs to be selected in the settings for what parameters to show? That is to what I was referring saying you can turn it off...it’s not in the printer definition. if you do turn it off, you can achieve a controlled prime by adding lines to a skirt. Even if the first line or two is uneven, it should be well primed by the time it finishes the skirt.
  8. If the prime blob is misbehaving, you can turn it off. If not using brim, you can add a few lines of skirt to either catch the blob like a brim would, and/or prime the nozzle and show that your leveling is good by seeing a consistent layer thickness.
  9. Probably any of the same architecture and driver.
  10. I Think that the Intel UHD 620 graphics is the problem. When my Surface Book v2 is detached (thus no Nvidia graphics) it falls back to the Intel graphics and won’t launch.
  11. On the slow profile, check your Maximim Z speed limit. If it’s zero, that’s the problem. This should be fixed in later versions.
  12. Is that a Creality printer? They did include the community-created Creawsome extension as a default for Creality printers so that people with this printer could just select it and go. This has been in the extensions marketplace for a while. It is developed here: https://github.com/trouch/CreawsomeMod So, even though it is now bundled with Cura (since 4.2), it is not part of Cura, nor developed by the Cura team.
  13. As far as I know, that is not generated by Cura. It may be part of the “start gcode” in the printer definition.
  14. Do you have the Prime Blob turned on? There is usually a thin line from the blob to the start of the print because that move is made without retraction. Is that what you are talking about?
  15. Looks like underextrusion. Try slowing down the infill speed or increasing temp a bit. Or take a look at @gr5‘s long list here:
  16. @tanker2157, I think what you are referring to as a prime line is a “skirt”. Under Bed Adhesion you can choose “brim”, “skirt”, or “none”.
  17. Sounds like internal geometry. Search the forums for that phrase to get many tips.
  18. What is the format of the USB stick? It probably needs to be FAT 32. Try reformatting, add the files and try again. NOTE: this is just general guidance. I don’t have an S5, nor have I ever done the USB firmware update...
  19. Search for user @burtoogle and thin walls. He has a custom build with better wall fill algorithms.
  20. I have the UM3, so slightly different, but I have a bit of a different experience. like you, my Breakaway oozes as the nozzles are heated. I always have Breakaway in nozzle 2 when using it, and it measures nozzle 2 first during the nozzle height comparison test. This always puts a tiny amount of Breakaway in the spot where that test is done, but it doesn’t seem to cause problems. The key here is that the nozzles and bed are heated at this point. After that it does the 3-point bed leveling measurement. On the S5, it would be the mesh measurement, I presume. The only time I tend to have a large ooze blob on the head is if I stop the feeder too soon when loading. When loading, I’ve noticed that a thin ooze will drain from the nozzle before the filament is fully loaded. I always wait until I see a steady flow. The Breakaway has a bit elasticity that makes the thread to be a bit thicker than the nozzle width. I can actually see the thread pulled up a bit when it retracts at the end of loading. Between being sure it’s fully loaded and using a prime blob, I’ve never had underextrusion issues with it. Good luck.
  21. Unless you are truly needing single walls to be .44mm thick, I think maybe your calibration method is perhaps not useful. Instead, slice an actual object, and check calibration of the macro dimensions and let the slicer and firmware work together to get well printed objects. if you need better accuracy for given parts, settings like a small negative Horizontal expansion might help.
  22. Is it possible you made a firmware change? The “no cold extrusion” is handled in firmware on the printer.
  23. Are your gantry rods square? Others who have had uneven dimensions had slipped a tooth somewhere.
  24. It sounds like it’s not using your video card properly. Whit video card do you have, and what OS?
