My favourite PET-G was Spectrum as well. Sadly no longer available. Using a British manufacturer now which is excellent and cheaper though.

So what you are saying is the Esun profile doesn't work for your particular filament?
-
Just use CPE and adjust temps to your filament.

Yes, you can use 0,6mm print core for PET-G.
Thank's.

Is it ok to use this with PET-G? Can't think why not but thought it best to check.
-
The print speed using the profile I put up, can be reduced simply by increasing the layer height to .2mm with little impact on quality.

Looks like the forum is just having us download it in a weird format. Changing the file extension to .curaprofile worked!
Thanks for sharing - will give this a go.
Good, let me know how you get on with. Be interesting as my prints come out perfectly every time.

Thanks for sharing but unfortunately it doesn't load in cura?
The file comes out as "1113205392_PET-GPROFILE_curaprofile (1).3be41f19135ee9a8651b1877af41bd51" and that's it. I've tried renaming it but it doesn't work. Thank you so much 🙂 I'm super excited to try it out!
Well that's strange, I've just imported that file myself and it works ok. Anyone else like to try?

Oh yes please please! I'll absolutely take that profie!!! Thank you!! While leaving this comment there' a choose file option so I'm not sure how to export a profile from cura but I'll absolutely give it a shot 🙂
Also, for infill speed, thank you so much, I'll try that right now and see how it goes. Ya'll are amazing and I can't thank you enough 🙂
Give this a try and let me know how you get on. I'm using Cura 4.4.1

Strange I print with mostly PET-G and really pleased with the results. I will gladly put my profile here if someone will explain how I do it.

I have used about 15 rolls from them last year, great quality. Link should show petg in 2,85mm that are in stock.
Thank's for that, they don't seem to have white or black which is what I need.

Someone with an Ultimaker must use PET-G on here, any suggestions please?
-
Hi, I'm printing some visors for NHS from PET-G. I've been using Spectrum filament that I tried from a recommendation on here. The print quality is superb and it's really not expensive but I can't get any in the UK currently as it's out of stock.
My printer is an Ultimaker S5 so needs to be 2.85mm and as I'm supplying free of charge price is important so can't afford Ultimaker CPE.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated thank's.

I agree, Particularly interested. I never use PLA but lots of CPE and Nylon so intent profiles for these would be excellent.

Interesting topic.
My impression about the Ultimaker S5 (and Ultimaker printers in general) is that they are not meant to be modded in the way that cheaper printers like Prusa, Creality, Anycubic, etc., are. I see this as more of a negative thing than positive. I'm an electronics engineer, and would love to be able to improve on my (not yet in my hands) S5. But the price/warranty and overall enclosed design of the printer discourages users to mod it. Maybe some external attachments for filament handling, helpful tools, things like that, but I'm not sure how easy it would be to mod the electronics and mechanics.
Would love to hear about useful mods from S5 users out there.
Be interested to know what you would like to change if you don't even have one? I haven't changed anything on my S5 and see no reason to as it does what I want. Unlike the Chinese POS I also have which I may change by throwing it in the garbage.

I have used BAST Innofil PAHT which I think is carbon reinforced nylon. I couldn't break the parts but they were far to flexible for the application. Will try the PETG version next to see if that's stiffer.

To be honest - no 🙂
That's what I thought. I'll do one on Monday when I go back to work and post some pics up. Not tried it so be interesting.
-
Interested to know if you're pleased with that Smithy?

I'll do one on my S5 to compare if you do one on your Prusa.

Thank's but yes I have seen and set that. The problem is when I select open with .3mf files it doesn't see anything. If I open with all files I just get the model.

Just done a fresh install of Windows 10 and Cura 4.4.1. It seems that everything I saved as a project is now just an STL file with no profile information.
Any ideas, thank's.

Slightly worried here. Does this update happen automatically or do we have to initiate it via the printer? Not done any updates willingly as its beginning to seem that Ultimaker are incapable of getting things right first time.
Holding off on the Cura update for this reason!

Here is a summary of the difference between the normal profiles and the accurate ones. You can set these settings in your favorite profile and either create a new profile (not recommended) or always do "file" "save" and later if you want to repeat these settings on a new part, start off by loading the saved project (I have had much better luck with "file" "save" than with saving profiles).
These settings are material agnostic meaning they should work with all materials but only the 0.4 core.
Line width: 0.4
Wall thickness: 1.2
Top/Bottom thickness: 1.2
Speeds: 35-40 (all speeds, except travel)
Jerks: 20
Horizontal expansion: -0.03
walls: 3
Inital Layer Height = 0.1
Slicing Tolerance = Exclusive
Combing Mode = off
Outer before Inner Walls = CheckedThank's for that, are these settings for any layer height?

Although it is a pity that the UM3 was not noticed, there is no magic behind the profiles. There are only a few settings like speed or line width that are adjusted. So you can create your own profile like you did before Cura 4.4.
This new Intent function is only a visual change of how the user selects the profiles. In the background there are still single profiles. With this I mean that if someone has already created a profile that fits his needs, then there is no great advantage from new Intent profiles.
All those who have printed with the default profiles and have problems with the dimensional accuracy would of course benefit from it.I am one of the people you mention that has issues with dimensional accuracy from time to time. I own a CNC machine shop so printing is a useful addition to my business.
I bought an S5 after trying a cheap Chinese printer because I simply don't have the time or inclination to tweak and test constantly. By and large it does what I wanted, I can go from design to print in no time at all and the S5 is reliable and does an excellent job until dimensional accuracy becomes important.
The intent profiles would be excellent for me except I don't use any of the materials they have intent profiles for. I use mainly CPE, Nylon and Nylon/carbon. I am not alone with this as I have seen a few other posts regarding accuracy which brings me to an idea.
What about a forum for people to share and request profiles. This could be divided into sub forums for different model printers much like people share files on thingyverse?

Really impressed, tolerances are excellent, prints come out fantastic, extremely strong and the price is amazing.
I print with it at 235 c.
