Yeap, totally agree with that. The log is kinda dumb, I didn't want to say that before. But this is a really good job. I am using FreeCad 0.19 (daily builds) Also, I would like to see in this plugin the ability to set the mesh resolution and to select the body inside the FreeCad file. These will be a great addition and it is not hard to implement. I actually was tring to implement it with your plugin. My biggest issue is that I don't know how to open a window to display these options to the user in Cura. Is it possible?

Cool, I tested this new plugin it works well. However, when the model is not well formed, it fails like UbuntuBirdy said. 1. This is the malformed model https://www.dropbox.com/s/bcjjjuqxbpbtndo/case_lid_not_working.FCStd?dl=0 2. But then, I fixed it, so the plugin was able to open it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/y5j6k7s0csjqnen/case_lid.FCStd?dl=0 Thank you Thopiekar!

I understand. I was doing that so much, I was not able to understand why Cura cant execute the external command. But I would really appreciate your feedback if you can run the plugin with a Freecad 0.19 file. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Maybe I was not able to set my computer propperly. Well, if you have time, I made this cylinder with the Part Design Workbench https://www.dropbox.com/s/p29x2xguxfymoe2/test_cura_freecad_0.19.FCStd?dl=0

Can you test with 0.19?

I am having a hard time debugging this, I believe the operation is taking more time than Cura expects to run an external command. How can I increase this time?

leoheck started following Cura 4.2.1 + Ender 3, 4.3.0 will not run and FreeCAD plugin (official thread)

Same issue here, on Ubuntu 19.04 and 19.10 (Cura 4.2.1 is just working fine, and also cura 4.4 beta opens the AppImg fine.)

Cura log for reference

I am still investigating this issue. Now, I have cura 4.3.0 with FreeCAD integration 0.3.2. The macro runs flawlessly from the command line but I was not able to run it with Cura. I am thinking the issue is in the CommonCLIReader.py but it is just a guess. Maybe it is a bug on executeCommand. I am discarding this one. It looks good. Cura just say "Invalid File, Failed to load"

Hello thopiekar, thanks for the reply. Is there any thing that I can do to help you?

Hey guys, where should I post issues for Freecad Plugin? I am running Cura 4.2.1 with Freecad Integration plugin 0.3.1. It can't open my FCStd files from Freecad 0.18.3. Please, can someone reference me where this plugin is being developed? As I could verify, It works with Frecad <= 0.18.2 only.

I just installed Cura 4.2.1 (I was using 4.1.0) and the layer height settings has changed for my Ender 3. Before, I use to have 0.1, 0.15, 0.2, 0.3 as layer heights available. Now I have something like 0.12, 0.16, 0.2, 0.28. I don't know if it is ok but I feel that it is not a good thing. Is it is it ok? I was not able to print something good with this Cura 4.2.1 yet. Using the 4.1 again and it works just fine.

Oh, how this can be more complicated, since it already has the feature to rotate things. Well, thanks for your suggestion anyway.

I did! It is actually not a problem to me. I just want report that something is missing. They can manage the way they need. And since it is duplicated, it shows many people have the same issue.

Thank you gr5, github answer is what I was expecting to hear. And also thank you for the tip. Using mouse/touchpad to change angle is not a good thing for me. I always need the full control to tweak and repeat processes.
