I have a print (attached) that printed really well until it came to the roof and then there was a lot of sagging. This file took approx 16 hours on my Ender 3 Pro main_body.STL. I've added some supports in Meshmixer and re-spliced in Cura and it's now going to take approximately 30 hours main_body.binary.supports.STL. I don't want to leave my printer unattended while it's printing, which I would have to do with such a large print and nor do I want to leave the printer paused for long periods of time, as the bed, nozzle and fan will remain in their same "print state" i.e. hot, or whirring. Is it possible to split an STL file into two (or more) parts so that I could for example print the lower half one day and the top half another with it automatically resuming with the appropriate x,y,z values to restart half way up the print? This would then allow me to turn the printer off rather than leave it running for the full 30 hours. If this isn't possible, how do I go about splitting the main_body.STL file into two so that I can print the roof section seperately without the need for supports and then glue it together afterwards? Thanks in advance for any help/advice. N.B. I'm a newbie to 3D printing, so presume I know nothing! 🙄
