  1. Hi you all, I finally got the time to tackle this problem. I fully disassembled the Print Core and got the filament out. It broke of in the nozzle though. I used this video. See attached photos of the parts and the deformed filament. The thickest part was almost 4mm in diameter. Next I installed and needed to calibrate the core. The broken filament just melted out. I considered cleaning the core but that didn't seem necessary. The calibration went fine. Thank you for your support. Solved.
  2. Hi @AndersK and hi @neute, thank you for your input and help. I managed to remove the core. I used a scalpel to cut a small notch and the filament came lose when I applied some twisting to the pulling motion. Indeed there were some "hairs" in the fan. I did the full maintenance routine as I was half way done anyways after cleaning the feeders. Unfortunately the filament is stuck inside the core. See the pictures. I will read some more posts in the forum to find out how to safely remove the remaining filament.
  3. Hi @ all, I've got a really wired filament jam. The PLA filament somehow bulged at the top of the print core. See attached photo. Let me describe what I have done so far: - Saw, that the Ultimaker S5 didn't complete the print. "Material seems to be empty." It wasn't. - checked for twisted material as this sometimes happens. It wasn't. - tried to resume print but filament didn't move into feeder. - aborted print - unload filament didn't work. I thought it might got stuck or ground down in feeder. - turned off machine, removed bowden tube and opened feeder. - it was ground down but still couldn't remove filament from core. Cleaned and assembled feeder - snipped filament - tried "hot pull" core cleaning method - filament wouldn't move into core and i couldn't remove it either - noticed that filament diameter is bigger than the opening of the core - tried to remove core but the intentional left filament tail prevents removal. I left a tail to grab hold with pliers. Do you have any idea how to move forward?
  4. Unfortunately they did't say. Thanks, onward to the next issues that need tweaking, but that would be a different thread. Thanks for your help
  5. I managed it!! I reset to factory settings btw. I physically removed the Air Manager while the S5 was powered off, restarted the printer, turned it off again, set the Air Manager back on top of the printer, checked all cables attatched, and restarted the printer again and violà, the setup was completed without the mentioned prompt. So check the cables if the prompt keeps showing up lol.
  6. Some colleagues were in the office and kindly removed the prints from the bed. But they can't refill filament and do maintenance services. I was in office roughly once per week. We're connected via VPN and have access from home. And it still feels risky to start a print from remote and usually I avoid it, because I can't check if the first layer is perfect etc. That's why the two printers are connected via group and our IT department won't allow Digital Factory btw. Need to group them again, when the Air Manager is working properly. So far the firmware updates are successfully installed but the error with the Air Manger remains.
  7. Oh, thanks for the heads up! Currently updating both printers. Was working from home for the most time of the year so far and couldn't perform all necessary maintenance steps. Will report in a bit.
  8. Thanks for your reply. The printer is currently in a group, and it is NOT the host. Do I need to remove it from the group first to avoid further problems?
  9. Hi you all, during maintenance I removed the Air Manager and now I'm not sure if the Air Manager is working properly. I needed to clean the feeders and couldn't properly access all screws, notably the feeder tension bolt, so I removed the Air Manager while the S5 was powered off. I used this guide to remove the Air Manager and this guide to clean the feeders. After powering up the S5 the prompt pops up according to the guide: but in the settings menu it still says "Install", so I click it, the S5 then needs to reboot, and after reboot I'm to square one as the same prompt from above pops up. Unplugging Air Manager, turning off S5, turning on S5, plug in Air Manager, Install didn't help. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.
  10. Hey, are you sure you have the newest version of Cura installed? There was a bug with the "stair stepping" as mentioned here: https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/issues/7018 I don't know if it was fixed in Cura 4.4.1. Maybe you can check if the problematic layers were supported enough. Was this part printed with PLA and Breakaway? I had a similar looking issue and the suggested workaround solved the issue.
  11. Hi again, I was able to solve the issue with aligning the axles. Sadly following manual isn't available with pictures for the S5. Nonetheless the guide helped me. https://ultimaker.com/en/resources/50679-check-for-play-on-axles
  12. Hey @Minkeproducts, take a look at this manual. I successfully tightened the pulleys and belts today on a S5 with the manual. https://ultimaker.com/en/resources/50679-check-for-play-on-axles
  13. Hi Geert, I will check this with this (https://ultimaker.com/en/resources/52524-xy-offset-calibration) and this (https://ultimaker.com/en/resources/19953-aligning-the-axles) method. Thank you for your input.
  14. Hi, I have problems printing a box with a lid. The corners aren't perpendicular to each other, therefore I can't assemble the box. The box is totally slanted when assembled and I can't put my finger on it, why this happens. The Box and the lid individually lay flat. I printed the box three times so far with no luck. At first I thought the large bottom area causes the problem, so I designed a big hole in it. That did not help either. Maybe the filament is the problem? Please see attached pictures. I printed the last model upside down with a ton of support. The top layer isn't ideal either, that's why i think the material could be a problem. I hope someone has an idea.
