Howdy, I was just gifted a Type A Machine Series 1 Pro printer, that I'm trying to get up and running at home for fun with the kids. My first issue was connecting to it over my home network. It would only connect 1 in 10 times, and then it would lose the connection mid-print, alot. I figured out how to by-pass the BeagleBone Black board and just USB directly into the RUMBA board, so now I have a consistent connection at least. I have found a specific software 'CURA for Type A' slicer, which is pretty old and limited, but it's giving me appropriate Gcode that I'm pushing out through Repetier, with decent results. I'm now trouble shooting all the normal print issues, which is fine, but as I'm looking at the latest CURA version, it has some features I'd love to use, like 'Spiralize' for doing Vase mode. So in CURA 4.4.1 There is a machine preset titled 'Type A Machines Series 1 2014'. I'm pretty sure my machine is a later version than the 2014 (as it's called a PRO). When I use this preset to slice (and run the Gcode through Repetier), the head does the beginning travel and filament purge like normal, but then the actual brim print starts and stops erratically. Repetier isn't saying it's lost it's connection with the printer, it's just sitting and waiting. If I pause the print and unpause it, that will sometimes jog the head a few moves forward, but it stalls again quickly... No good. So my next thought is to create a custom machine setting. I started with the original 2014 preset, and then copy/paste the start/end Gcode from the old 'CURA 1.5 for Type A' into this new CURA 4.4.1 preset. {I have no idea what I'm doing here, I'm not versed in code of any kind}. This gets the machine to work a bit better. No stalling out, but the speeds are all way off. The beginning travel speed is super slow, like 1/50 of normal. Then the print speed is super fast, like 200% of normal... Now I'm totally out of my depths. Anybody out there got any ideas for me here? I'm open to anything... I can always just go back to using the old CURA 1.5 But I'd love to be able to do more here with the newer CURA... Thanks, Tory
