Hi Everyone,
I am using a loaned Ultimaker S3 to print PPE and I am getting increasingly frustrated with it. I am usually able to troubleshoot my own issues, but I just cannot seem to get the S3 printing consistently. About 50% of the time when I start a print I get the following error: "Difference between detected height of both print cores exceeds realistic values". I try again and it usually succeeds on the second or third attempt. I have tried everything I can possibly think of to fix this, but I still consistently get the error. What I have tried:
- Manually leveling the bed 10-15 times over the past three weeks
- Tightening the bed screws most of the way and manually leveling (as per a forum post I found the other day)
- Replacing a print core
- Cleaning both print cores multiple times
- Cleaning the print bed 10+ times, even flipping it over to have a pristine print surface
I have nine other printers running (all budget printers in the ~£300 price range) and none of them have any problems. I have read online that it is possible to turn off auto-bed-leveing in the S3, but I do not see the option anywhere (I have gone through every single nested menu several times).
Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
