  1. Cura 4.6 and 4.7. I have a 38 degree overhang made with a sweep, with constant XY thickness of 2.2mm. 0.3mm layer height and 0.75mm line thickness, wall 2 line thick, with the intention for there to be 3 walls. I made the mistake of forgetting that the 5% overlap would be 0.375 for the 0.75mm line. I was thinking 0.025 for the old nozzle with 0.5mm line. That's why I set the overhang wall in the model to 2.2mm thick in the xy plane. It would be better at 2.25-0.075=2.175mm. But 2.2mm is still wider than 2.175mm, and I still have the minimum wall flow set to 40%, so the interior wall should be ok. But Cura is breaking the interior wall on opposite corners, alternating every other layer to the opposite pair of corners. Then it's filling the gap with some really tiny lines. Why is this happening and how can I fix it? Thanks
  2. Well, I assume these floating supports will risk print failure from dragging loose strands or sagging overhangs if someone isn't careful and paying attention to how Cura is generating them.
  3. I did a little more testing. With zig-zag set to 10% density, I was able to get rid of the floating support layers, but unfortunately it's an enclosed rectangle. I was expecting at least 1 side to be open to that it's easier to break it loose. I also tested the line support, changing the density by 1% increments and each time gives really unexpected results of floating supports with missing layers. Only a few gave satisfactory results without missing support layers, but I could only do it with 1 line. Whenever there are 2 lines, the second one always has missing layers.
  4. I'm new to Cura. I'm slicing a model with a 5mm horizontal hole, and using supports at around 55 degrees. I tried the default setting for zig-zag for 0.3mm layer height and 0.4mm nozzle, 15% density, but there is a 3 layer gap in the support so that 50% of it is floating in the air. Is this normal behavior? I tried switching to line support, and adjusted the density to 20-25% to try to get the line in the center of the hole. Off to the side, another line is generated which has part of it floating in the air too, by 1 layer.
  5. Thank you, setting the wall count to 0 fixed the problem.
  6. Why does adding an infill mesh cause it to create duplicate walls? I'm new to Cura. I wanted to adjust the infill density of these 4 towers. I created a rectangular block to intersect one of the towers and added an infill density setting in the "per model settings" > "modify settings for overlap" > "infill mesh only". But no matter what I do, when sliced it seems to generate double walls, both outer and inner walls. Original setting is 2 walls, but the tower with an overlapping infill mesh gets 4 walls. I tried adding a wall thickness and wall count setting, but there is no effect.
