  1. No, the motor continues turning forward immediately after the movement without moving the filament back. I believe this is why it causes such significant under extrusion. I will check the retraction settings in cura. I’m planning to check exactly how far the filament is pulled out each time to determine if it is just a normal retraction movement at the wrong time. It’s pretty confusing to me though that the problem disappears when I raise the temperature by a few degrees and slow the speed down to 15 or 20mm/s.
  2. Ok, but the same problem happens with PLA as well. I suspected the skipping too but I looked closely at the video and the motor is actually turning backwards, and it pulls the filament out of the bowden tube with it. This is probably why the problem causes serious under extrusion. The filament is simply pulled out of the mechanism every so often by the intake gears. It still could be a hot end problem though because it virtually disappears at much lower speeds.
  3. I have had a Creality CR-10 Max for a few weeks now. My first few prints came out very well with minimal issues, but now there has been a problem where The intake motor will randomly spin the wrong direction very quickly with a loud noise. This is causing under extrusion unless I set the prince be very low. I have included a short video that shows the motor turning the wrong way (this was not when a retraction should happen) and two small cubes that I printed today. Both were printed using PETG. The darker one was printed at 15 mm/s, and the other one was printed at 37 mm/s for the bottom half, and then 50 mm/s for the top half. At lower speeds, the prints come out much better, but I was previously able to print at the same quality at higher speeds, and I can’t print large parts because they take too long at such low speeds. This problem also occurs with PLA, so I know the filament is not the problem. Any help is much appreciated! video link: https://imgur.com/gallery/2W7RhZu
