  1. I did this and didn't get the same result as you. All I ended up with was one red sphere
  2. Can you explain what you mean by "both models are broken" please?
  3. My layer height is 0.2mm. The wall is not razor sharp at the tip it is flat with a wall thickness of 0.8mm and a hole in the top of 1.9mm.
  4. Thanks I will give it a try. FreeCad says it is fine. I saw the problem when I printed them and then checked the Cura preview and found the layers that were causing the issues in the preview
  5. These are the two files. Thanks for taking a look at them cone3.stl cone-large.stl
  6. I have 2 cones that I need to print a large one and a small one. I have drawn both in FreeCad and they render fine. I load them into Cura V4.8 and they load and slice fine. With the large cone on layer 20 suddenly I get a single layer that goes across the whole of the cone and then the next layer above all is fine. With the small cone I get exactly the same thing on layer 77. Any suggestions as to what may be causing this issue?
  7. I ended up trying it in both TinkerCad and Fusion360 and gave up too steep a learning curve and too different to FreeCAD. So I re-drew it in FreeCAD doing it differently and it sliced fine and is now printing. 😀 Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
  8. I will give designing it a try in 360 or tinkercad but I will have to learn them first 😉
  9. Thanks for the thoughts, before the repair it was solid too. I will try redesigning it.
  10. Thanks I didn't get notified of your reply. Attached is a screenshot as requested.
  11. I have read the other posts on this hollow / solid slicing problems and not had any success sorting my stl out. I ran it through https://service.netfabb.com/login.php It still has the same problem even with the corrected file. (attached to this post) Any suggestions most welcome. extractor1_fixed.stl
