  1. Will Ultimaker eventually Digitally Sign this software? In my workplace we have protection software that does not allow unsigned exe files to run, which means every time a new release of cura is available i then have to contact It and get it put onto an allowed list.

  2. Still cant get this working i'm having bed level errors when trying to use an 0.8mm core in position one and 0.4 in position 2. All i want to do is be able to print from either core depending on the quality of print i am after. Just doesn't seem to be possible at the minute?

that cross lines on the model is not correct..
it looks like you turned it into a support modifier object... check your modifier settings on the left side.

Yeah to fix the 2nd part of this issue i just need to right click the model and select the correct core

  4. I have recently been trying my S5Pro with a 0.8mm nozzle the problem is the warning i get shown in the picture below and when i hover on the exclamation symbol i am shown this error, 'There are no profiles matching the configuration of this extruder'.

Firstly what is odd about this, is that I can print perfectly well but obviously something isn't adding up for the software as it marked 'not supported on the right of the profile also.

Secondly if I slice the body with the 0.8mm core/settings and decide, in fact I want to use the other core at 0.4mm instead, then disabling the right nozzle and enabling the left leaves me unable to slice with the following error.

    Cura version is 5.5

  5. Can this be made possible to allow viewing of printed parts in the app? I often start prints and have them finish while i am away but when they do finish the camera cant see them due to the build plate dropping to the bottom of the machine. Can we control the bed to view our finished parts?

What do you have selected for Travel > Combing Mode? At the very least it should be set to Not on Outer Surface (though as a bit paranoid myself I have it set to Not in Skin).

Although it sounds like the problem might be the end gcode, which isn't going to be affected by combing settings. You could try adding this to your end gcode, before everything else: (Tried to think of a non-confusing way to say "start of end gcode" and probably failed miserably)

    G91 ; relative positioning
    G0 Z5 ; get 5mm vertical clearance
G90 ; back to absolute positioning

Thanks i will try this in my next print! sounds like the answer!

  7. is there any way i can stop the last move of the top layer ironing from traveling across already ironed areas, at present it is set to concentric and after finished it moves laterally to the machines rest position without lowering the build plate causing a nozzle shaped smudge in the cleaned layer.

  8. Hi i'd like to suggest a feature for the Ultimaker series that have cameras. I believe it could be possible for the printer to detect a failed print at any level with the use of the internal camera. We know where our models are placed and we know the cameras angle at each level, it should be a simple visual test that expects a geometry and agrees it exists, otherwise it can flag a failure. This would save a lot of wasted material on long prints with an early failure.

  9. I Operate an S5 Pro and create the print profiles to suit our products, i have up to 4 students who also work the machine but when i change something on the profile i have to mail them the new one to import. Is there any way these profiles can be directed to the software from the digital factory instead of living locally?

  10. In contrast to the above, i enjoy using the ultimaker S5 i have it in a work setting, controlled environment with the material station and the extractor hood. In its early days the firmware had some bugs but as far as i can tell its all been ironed out, i look after this machine with regular cleaning and oiling of the slides and screws. The only issues we have are not anything to be concerned about, the bed may need levelling 2 or three times a year and the fan on the extruder cleaned from fine debris. I had been in control of other machines purchased before my time and they were terrible to use, material was single source and the software was horrible. Ultimaker seems to be very user friendly and driven.

I would say go for it our machine is used every day we print ASA from polymaker and use dimafiix adhesive on the bed, it never misses a beat.

  11. I also had a fan issue which ended up being very fine strings of material caught in the inner bearing of the fan, i had to remove the fan which is quite difficult and you risk breaking some solder joints, its easily repaired though with a soldering iron. I removed all the material of which there was A LOT compared to what i could previously see. Everything's been working fine for months after this.

  12. I'm trying to dial in my prints for fitment purposes, i have found that the axis returns print at the following

    Ultimaker OD's: X+0.05 Y+0.08 Z0.00

    Ultimaker Holes: X-0.05 Y-0.07 Z0.00

Looking at this i imagine i can fix this by changing settings relating to the outer and inner walls?

I hope all the noise you hear is not from the Material Station (as it sounds more like a saw).😆

However I can add to the discussion the fact that even in ours (S5 Pro Bundle) for a couple of mornings when I arrive at the office I have heard that the Material Station is making some small noise (perhaps after updating the S5 to the latest firmware version).
Stuff of a few seconds and for 4/5 times within 5 minutes (like a small vibration of the motor that moves the materials) then for the rest of the day nothing more (or at least that's what it seems to me since then there are several activities that could cover the sound).
Maybe some default operation provided by the new firmware?

Since moving away from PVA and using breakaway i have not had this issue.

  14. I had a similar issue where my core cooling fan was not spinning, i removed it from the head and used a pair of tweezers to pull out a huge amount of thin strings of material which were stopping it operating. The fan not turning caused material to melt right up the core to the bowden tube and it was unable to push it through.

Cleaning the fan fixed it, be careful though the solder joints on the fan are delicate.
