Hallo Gerd, ideamaker hab ich mal ausprobiert, liegt mir aber nicht so ganz. Ich komm´ mit Cura und Prusa ganz gut zurecht. Ich hab mir mal das Script in notepad++ angeschaut und verstehe bis auf die letzten Zeilen schon einiges. Aber ändern, dafür müsste ich Python weit besser verstehen und können. Und da es ja bei mir soweit funktioniert, bleibt alles beim alten. Wo hast Du denn die Tipps bzgl. Klingel gefunden? Die Einstellung "XY-Größenkompensation für Konturen" finde ich nirgends. Gruß Kai

Hallo Gerd, für den Prusa hab ich natürlich einen eigenen Slicer. Neben dem und Cura hab ich noch den von ideamaker installiert. Vlt. wäre der Prusa Slicer 2.3.3 was für deinen UM. Wie gesagt, das Script löppt und was die Klingel betrifft, so überlege ich mir da eine Lösung. Nur, wer druckt schon oft mehrere Schichten in verschiedenen Farben? Sicher könnte man über pronterface oder octoprint interagieren.... mal schauen. Bzgl. Python Scripting schaue ich mir das mal in notepad++ an. Alleinstehedes Python GUI, welches genau und wo downloaden? G4 kann das Script auch.... Gruß Kai

Hallo Gerd, ich finde meinen Kommentar bzgl. Cura nachbessern keineswegs mies. Zumal er ja auch nicht negativ gemeint war. Aber wenn Cura möglich ist, sollte doch umgesetzt werden und Feedback ist immer willkommen. Auch das Scripte nicht deaktiviert, sondern nur gelöscht werden können, könnte verbessert werden. Ein Häkchen bei "Aktiv", Thema durch. Die implementierten Scripte funktionieren ja soweit. Egal welche Taste, außer Stop, drücke, der Drucker bleibt stehen. Ich hab mir diese Prozedur über mehr als 30 Min hinweg mal gegönnt und jedem Tastendruck 10 Min Wartezeit eingeräumt. Am Ende standen der Drucker noch immer wie zu Beginn da. Ich weiß ja nicht, ob per Script druckerspezifische Eigenarten überschrieben werden können. Der Tipp mit der Klingel klingt verlockend, mal sehen wie sich das umsetzen läßt. Eine andere Firmware kommt nicht in Frage. Ich hab ja noch den Prusa MK3S+, da werde ich den Farbwechsel auch mal testen. Übrigens, der CR-6 SE kostet im Schnitt etwas über 400€, da finde ich schon, das ein allgemein bekannter und voll umfänglicher Befehlssatz implementiert ist. Oder kannst Du bei deinem Auto erst ab 100km/h dein Licht einschalten? Ich weiß zwar nicht, warum dein UM2 nicht mit dem Script, das ja nicht von mir stammt, laufen soll, aber Ok. Ich komme mit dem Script soweit zurecht bis es eine optimalere Lösung gibt. Gruß Kai

Hallo Gerd, Danke für dein Feedback. Ich will jetzt nicht auf alle Punkte eingehen, aber soviel sei gesagt, meinem CR-6 SE fehlen offenbar ein paar Befehle wie M0, G4, G117 usw. Daher funktiniert auch "Filament change" und "Pause at height" nicht. Was mich nicht stört, denn das Script deckt meine Anforderungen soweit ab. Einzig wie schon erwähnt, nervt das ewige zum Drucker wackeln ob der Farbwechsel ansteht und das meine Möhre keinen Sound ausgibt. Bzgl. #1 sollte Cura unbedingt nachbessern bzw. etwas mehr Funktionalität implementieren und #2, vlt. gibt es eine akustische Lösung zum "an"löten. Alles gut, ich kann mit W7 bestens leben. Ich muss nicht jeden Blödsinn vom Microsoft mitmachen. Nicht das ich nicht W10 irgendwo zum Spielen laufen hätte, aber richtig arbeiten tue ich nujr unter W7. Eine komplette Umstellung auf Linux bzw. W10 wäre derzeit ein irrer Aufwand. Das in meiner Message aufgeführte Script dürfte einem Profi wie Dir kein Problem bereiten es zu dekompilieren respektive anzupassen, oder? Wenn ich nicht Pause drücke, fährt der Drucker nach der im Script eingegebenen Zeitschleife weiter. Je nach Volumen ist es unheimlich schwer den Wechsel zeitlich abzuschätzen. Kann man über so ein Script nicht einen Sound ausgeben bzw. den Drucker wirklich bis zum nächsten Tastendruck stehen zu lassen? Wie gesagt, probiere das Script mal selbst aus.... Gruß Kai, Hannover

For most of your tasks you can use pronterface or octoprint. With these tools you´re able "vaccinate" the printer for longterm. However, I´m also satisfied with my 3 printers and as I mentioned before there is a perfect working script. So, there´ is no need to change anything. Cura should be implemented sound output, showing the present layer and time left when change the filament. Beside I use the Prusa slicer.... What about Creality? Do you have a Creality too.... Also I have no desire to tinker or fumble around the printer. The first CR-6 SE I was forced to change the board, hot end board, plate to golden PEI and the bed kit himself. Then I found out that 70C is to hot, all edges and corners were lifted up, looks ugly. Creality sends me 2 test gcode files (print them) and one of them were able to overtake into a new profile and now I´´ m happy.

Thanks Greg. But why my printer does not recognize M0, G4 and some other commands? I have to correct, he stops when I use Filament change and pause at height, but he does not continue, whatever I try to do. I will check your file, but with the script I presently use I´m happy, it works. Next, I think my printer does not sound or beep when stop, pause or whatver. Any idea? It´´´´´ s a CR-6 SE latest build/firmware

Thanks for help. But either "Filament change" nor "Pause at heigth" work on my printer.... he simply continues the print without any interuptions. However, Sound does not work too. As a really good workaround I use the script I mentioned above. So all other explanations do not help me. Also since release 4.9.x Cura does not run under W7 latest build, so I still use 4.8.0.

Hello, I was looking for a script that would allow me to change colors with sound. Unfortunately, the implemented templates "Filament change" and "Pause at height" do not work with my CR-6 SE, printing simply continues. Finally I found the following script: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3945021 It works great, as long as you match the time and press pause. Apparently my CR-6 SE cannot output any sound, maybe. a user knows a technically solderable idea. It would be nice if such a function were implemented in Cura. Which also offers the possibility to determine WHEN the filament needs to be changed. Which shows the current layer and the remaining time until the next change. Shouldn't be difficult and this time it would be a real benefit !! The current 10 is no better than the 4.8.0. The 4.10.0 will definitely not continue to run under W7, errors regarding Python are driveled in the log.

Hallo, ich war auf der Suche nach einem Skript das mir einen Farbwechsel mit Sound erlaubt. Leider funktionieren die implementierten Vorlagen "Filament change" und "Pause at height" bei meinem CR-6 SE nicht, es wird schlichtweg weiter gedruckt. Schließlich habe ich folgendes Script gefunden: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3945021 Es funktioniert bestens, sofern man die Zeit abpasst und Pause drückt. Mein CR-6 SE kann offenbar keinen Sound ausgeben, vlt. weiß ja ein User eine technisch lötbare Idee. Es wäre schön, wenn so eine Funktion in Cura implementiert wäre. Die zusätzlich noch die Möglichkeit bietet ermitteln zu lassen, WANN das Filament gewechselt werden muss. Die den aktuellen Layer und die verbleibende Zeit bis zum nächsten Wechsel anzeigt. Dürfte eigentlich nicht schwer sein und wäre diesmal ein echter Benefit!! Die aktuelle 10 ist nicht besser als die 4.8.0. Weiter läuft die 4.10.0 unter W7 definitiv nicht, es wird im Log von Fehler bzgl. Python gefaselt.

I use W7 64bit of course and as I mentioned, 4.9.x tries to start. But after running "Loading UI" the border of the window will be shown very shortly and disappears. Could depends on my old GPU drivers. But what was changed to 4.9.x that is does not work, 4.8.0 runs perfectly. Anyway, I usually use the Prusa slicer and as I mentiond above 4.8.0 runs perfectly.

@GregValiant: you might be right, but the most intention is to find out why 4.9.x does not run under Windows 7. W7 does not related to MAC, so MAC should have surely a own section....

This is not related to the main topic which was the not loading 4.9.x on Windows 7.... I´m not interested about failures on a MAC!!!

What does your problems refers to not running Cura 4.9.x on Windows 7??? Update your grahpic card driver could help. If not able while to old, bad luck 🙂

I´ m agree with you, guys. @mechanic75 To give priviliges to folder and files add the user who should in the admin group to drive 😄 and submid all files and folders to add fullly rights. @DrCeeVee I´´ m going back to 4.8.0. Even I could really find some benefits the new release. At least I´´ m sorry to tell mostly using Prusa slicer with works through all releases perfectly.

Download is no longer accessible 😞 If you meant my graphic card, there is no newer driver as already is installed. If so, something in 4.9.x has been changed!! Don´t worry, I´ ´m happy with 4.8.0 🙂

This update is already installed the file told me. Any other suggestions? As I discribed above.... 4.9.x was loaded until "Loading UI". Then a frame with the headline appears for a second, you can read Cura and so on. Then all of them close and nothing happens anymore. For more details watch out the logfile in the mail before. Python will be pointed as the troublemaker 🙂 Here you can see whats happened.... the second pic shows for a short time these part of the windows/frame

Hello, using 4.8.0. Installing 4.9.0 / 4.9.1 will be done, but when I start after "Loading UI" very short the headline of the software will shown. So, actually I´m not able to use the latest release on Windows 7 which is on the support list. Found the file stderr.log, it means that there are a lot of problems with Python. stderr.log

Hi Greg, thanks for your message. Copy the definition file does not work. Neither Mingda nor 3D or D3 are listed in the printer list. I used to modify the Ender 3 to make it Mingda Rock 3. Thanks in advance Kai

Hello, regarding the my new printer above I need configuration details as printed setting or a file. Mingda gave me to choose "Raft", "Quality 0,2" and "Support Type everywhere". That´ s fine, but what about start/end code, bed size and other setting may I need to do? I´m using 4.8.0 and there is no setting "Raft".... Some questions least: - how can I turn a object? - how can I find out which settings are neccessary, important regarding speed, quality and more?
