  1. I've had this happen a few times before. It is almost always a problem with your .stl Try to export the model as a .3mf and see if that helps. Or try to see if you have multiple bodies in your CAD file, that can sometimes throw cura for a loop.
  2. I have an S5 for sale with the air manager. I'm in MA, USA.
  3. Having used the BASF 17-4 material: 1. Cura will automatically resize the parts in XYZ starting with I think it was 5.0 or 5.1 (update to the latest version to be sure, as well as the latest material profile in the marketplace) 2. You MUST ***THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL*** use Magigoo or some other Magigoo like adhesive. Glue stick doesn't work well, but Magigoo Original and HT in my testing worked well after soaking the entire plate in a water bath (pouring water and letting it sit on the plate worked too) then the part will be able to be removed without damage. Without it the part will tear itself apart when trying to remove. 3. Dedicate a CC core to metal. The first print from my machine had trace amounts of plastic in it from an incomplete prime of the nozzle which ended up leaving a void in my part post sintering (it was small but still noticeable) If you don't want dedicate a core be prepared to run the printcore cleaning process (with Ultimaker cleaning filament) regularly. 4. The surface of the metal parts is super rough. Unless you sand your parts before sintering be prepared for a sandpaper-like finish that is a pain to clean up afterwards. I haven't tried ironing to reduce this roughness, but try at your own risk. 5. Follow the design guide lines given by basf exactly. Failure to follow will result in failure (which for me was mostly just part warpage during sintering in the XY) If you're willing to deal with these issues then you can make parts that are just as good as steel with a machine you already have. If you have the patience, it's 100% worth it.
  4. FBRC8 has a host of many parts for all ultimakers. Here is the specific part you are looking for: https://fbrc8.com/collections/ultimaker-s5-s3-spare-parts/products/print-head-board-ums5
  5. What do you mean by tangled? Pictures would greatly help.
  6. Try to relevel your bed and maybe try out Magigoo. I have used the Ultimaker 2+ (Connect and non-connect) and have found that Magigoo is almost necessary to get small features to stick to the bed. Glue stick didn't work for me either which is why I tried using Magigoo and I'm happy I did.
  7. There isn't a "one size fits all" for material combination testing. I usually use the *actual part* I am trying to print in dual material and tweak settings based on what I am seeing for errors, defects, etc. It's not a clean-cut science for dual material FDM, but once you get a profile made for this part you can usually use it with minimal changes.
  8. This is normal. So you tried to manually load it and now the lever on the feeder doesn't close correct? This is definitely not normal. I think you had a Ulticontroller (touchscreen) failure at the worst possible time. If the printer doesn't recognize the failure (I.e. it doesn't auto-reboot the Linux board w/o effecting the motion controller) you have to turn the power off to the printer to manually reboot it. This means you have lost the print. 😞
  9. 100% Agree with Erin. I replaced my S5 belts a few weeks ago now. Pain to work on, but once you get them in there and they settle in the printer worked just like it did new (and was MUCH quieter, my belts really needed to be replaced) and It's definitely worth the trouble if you have the time and patience!
  10. Any Updates/teasers on this? I have an S5 and a 2+C and its getting to be very annoying to not be able to queue parts. Especially when I'm used to queueing 2-3 different jobs at once on the S5. Even just queuing the next print would be a major improvement (and honestly one that should have already happened, but I digress.)
  11. How many cores do you have? I usually do print core cleaning when I know I'm not gonna use the core for a bit (3-4 weeks plus), especially the BB cores. If you have a lot of cores, maybe printing a print core holder and using small sticky notes when they are in the box could work. I attached one bellow I am printing as we speak. I organize by type (AAs in one, BB + CC in the other) Here's the link: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3849752/files It is not my design but I love it and I recommend it.
  12. Location: 01510 (Clinton, MA) Price: *SOLD* This machine previously used in a professional environment and recently had a complete tune up and replacement of the gantry components (belts, sliding blocks, etc), Automatic leveling system and front panel. It is brand new in terms of wear and functionality. It comes with: - Ultimaker 3 Extended - 2x AA0.4 Printcore - 1x BB0.4 Printcore - 1x Advanced Printing Kit (Some adhesions sheets have been used) - 2x Glass Build Plates - 1x Matterhackers Black PLA (1kg) I have recently upgraded to the S5 and a Form 3 so I no longer have the space or need for this beautiful machine. Please message me with any questions! Thanks! NOTE: The printer is still on its way back from FBRC8, who were the ones that repaired the machine. I will post more photographs once the printer gets back in hand! Here is a link for the eBay listing if you're not local: https://www.ebay.com/itm/194811097192 SOLD!
  13. @ctbeke Thank you for the update! I look forward to seeing this implemented in the future!
  14. I'll keep pressing for that update to happen soon! Any Chance we'll see this implemented in the near future? I love UDF and the Camera functionality of the S5 is super useful when not in the building to monitor prints. I would love to see a camera option added to UDF for the UM3, even if it only updates every 15-20 seconds or so. Any update is greatly appreciated!
