  1. I figured out how to do this. In Cura, create the entry for your new material. (I just cloned generic PLA and changed the name, brand, color, etc) Export the new material Open the exported material in a text editor Find the <machine> sections and then find the block for your machine. Inside each <machine> section there are are <hotend> subsections. Each of these will have a line like "<setting key="hardware compatible">yes</setting>" For each hot end set the value to "yes" or "no" depending on if that type of print core is compatible with this material and save the file. In Cura, REMOVE the material you created. Now IMPORT the material from the modified file. Sync materials to your printer as normal. Now, if you select your new material on the touch screen but don't have a compatible print core loaded the screen will warn you.
  2. When I'm loading material in my S5 the screen will show a little warning icon next to materials that I shouldn't load with the current print core. That's great, but it only works if the printer actually has a profile for the material you're loading. I've got some glow in the dark PLA which works great with "generic PLA" settings, but the maker (MatterHackers) says it's abrasive and I should only use it with a CC print core. The problem is it's easy to forget when switching materials to switch the print core too. What I want to do is create a profile for this material that'll warn me if I try to load it with the wrong print core installed, but I haven't been able to figure out how to do it. Any suggestions?
  3. Thanks! I think I'll go ahead with printing a box then.
  4. New to the community. Appologies if this isn't the right place to ask this. How are people storing their unused print cores on the S5? I've got the 2 AA and 1 BB core that came with the printer and a CC core as well. Right now I'm leaving them in the foam of the accessory box and the CC in the cardboard box it came in, but that's a little scattered. I found a box design on line I could print and store them in, but I worry about ESD. Other thoughts?
