  1. Perhaps the Mods could group, and sticky all the threads on this topic. What with 13 being launched an all
  2. I split a "letters" thing using mesh tools 28 items on the plate locked up a gigabyte gaming laptop I just bought because it ran slow adding support blocks on my old embedded graphics machine. about 8~12 sec per execution with that load. dunno if that is normal or not but Its very reproducible, so I'm sure the devs are aware
  3. I got your attention. And that, is FAR MORE than Lobo got I, received a detailed response that had thought put into it. Simply by scratching that ego. So, numbers 1-5 are a list of workarounds to a problem. Thats a fact jack. This is software is meant to be used by the general public, yeah? ANY ANY ANY update must be invisible to the user If ANY action is required by the end user to recover lost functionality, caused by the user hitting the "update" button. FAIL ALL ALL of their old personal settings must appear as they did before, or Fail. So, By the time version 4.20 rolls around, I'll test the "update function" with the 4.9 on my old laptop. itll have 1 custom dummy profile on it. If it functions like consumer software, and brings the user settings forward into the new version seamlessly, without ANY of your 1-5 steps of repair, I'll give it a go. Learning takes time, I spend mine on CAD, not fixing cura. Why don't you send LoBO and the others a PM, with your actual answer,.... They may be receptive to actual help not some "send me a log" shite,..fucktard
  4. Good Morning Poor Lobo, the OP and Johnwebbcole above, asked a reasonable question regarding a clearly common failure of the software lack of updatability Every time the CURA team (yea cura) release a new version the ONLY way to use it, is to throw away all your previous work, and start anew hand transcribing 496 settings It is the sole reason thousands of users eschew the benefits of updated software, and continue to use the version that shipped with thier machine. Of course this is only after wasting personal time chasing the greyed out fallacy of "IMPORT" or "EXPORT" Cura should hire some `GUI engineers, to help the sharp folk who write the slicer code, interact with humans. and Tards like nallath, asking for logs, thats a customer service "eff off, its lunchtime" response. REAL BAD for growing the community
  5. Greets All Necro, but pertinent. I bought a dl3 from tenlogs amazon store a couple months ago, been slowly getting it assembled, correctly, discovering all the partially tightened fasteners, protecting 110vwires rubbing on cut extrusion, etc. Time has come to setup the slicer, and I could not find the machine in the long list of the 4.9 cura I had installed to my HP in preparation. I found folders with instructions on the SD card that came with the machine. in there, directions to cleanly uninstall any other version of cura, taking care to manually removing the .cura folder etc. then installing the cura 4.8, that was on the SD. that worked, offline, and I find myself here, Odd first post, pretty specific, but, Hi everyone. seeing that there tenlog in the dropdown, I also found some prominent leads to a cura profile on the TL wbsite, so, I think were gonna be ok. it runs marlin I see, I guess now I will try to upgrade to 4.11, and keep the profile anyway, Its just a profile, from my extensive youtube education watching, I should be able to find good starting points from the community, and create a profile for my machine that way, and do it in the latest version of the slicer software, like a normal machine. If anyone has gotten Cura/tenlogdl3pro to play well, updated drivers firmware etc PM me, I could use a hand I got the version with the 2209 chips fwiw
