This is also my problem. When I change filament color at a given layer and the nozzle goes back to continue the print, it produces a small defect at the start of the new layer. This is a problem if the new layer is for example a text, because the first character can be messed up. Thus, I want to use also a small sacrificial object as the starting object at each layer in order to get the extrusion already stabilized on the main object. It worked once, but then I found out it was by chance. Is there some way of starting the new layers always from one specific object ?

OK, I got it. I was comparing to the global settings. My fault. Thanks for helping this novice.

I am starting to use Cura for my 3D Prints and still discovering new things in the software. There's something I can't quite understand, but I don't want to open a post on GitHub because it's probably a misunderstanding of mine. Yesterday, I prepared a custom profile in which I selected Skirt with 3 lines. The printing went well and it really did print 3 lines of skirt. Today I was reviewing what I did and saving the files when I observed that, although the print settings drop-down shows my parameters correctly, in the profile manager the number of lines appears as 1 instead of three. The same happens for other parameters I set. Is there something I'm missing?
