  1. Same here. "force layer view compatibility" changes nothing for me. @marcus-7 you mention that you have a Win 10 and a Win 11 computer, but not if the issue happens on both. I only have issues on my newest notebook, running Win 11, all others are on 10. Maybe there's a problem with Win 11? Cura also tends to freeze occasionally. BTW: for me, Cura isn'T always slow. Sometimes it's very fast, but mostly slow. The difference isn't subtile, but day and night.
  2. Sorry, please close, or delete this topic. It's much fast indeed (35 sec vs. 1:45min for the same job) No idea what was wrong. I re-installed Cura several times due to the freezing, and while it still freezes, the speed issues are gone now.
  3. Hi, I used to run Cura on a Thinkpad with 5th Generation i7, 2 cores, no GPU. Now I upgraded to a Thinkpad with 11th Gen. i7, 4 cores and an RTX3050ti GPU. Both 16GB RAM. Cura runs much slower in every aspect. The slicing itself is slightly slower, but the scrolling through layers (right slider in Preview tab) is so laggy, it's almost unusable. Maybe two noteworthy differences: - I'm now dealing with 4k, vs. FullHD display, but then again, this thing has a proper GPU to drive that. - new notebook runs Windows 11, while old one runs 10. One more thing: I had to re-install Curo once, because it froze always after a changing a few slicing settings. Any clue what this could be and how to fix it?
  4. Is my question so dumb, or so tricky? To my understanding the new slicing algorithm and the fact that it can vary line widths is THE most significant improvement in Cura 5. So the existence of the "print thin walls" option is quite confusing. Would it disable Arachne and switch back to the old engine?
  5. Hi. The title is already my question. To my understanding the "print thin walls" option was made obsolete by the Arachne engine. But Cura 5 still has that option. How come? Thanks!
