  1. With ultimaker PVA usually is very brittle ven when stored correctly. If you notice you can pull out about an arms length of material cut that and put it aside. The filament beyond the outer section of an arms length is usually less brittle and more functional. You also may have a piece stuck in the filament path causing under extrusion. I would look over the path, have a cold pull done on the extruder. Push PVA thru the print core to see its working that way. Then after having everything nicely tuned try again. The UM5 kicks butt with PVA if you get it right....
  2. Sounds more like a alignment; stepper type of issue. Making that clicking noise sounds like a mechanical fallacy more than electrical. Do update us here
  3. I would clean those print cores with a cold pull. Clean the plate greatly again with 90% or greater isopropal aclohol. Change your first layer to brim. You dont need glue for the plate for almost all material on the S7 but adhesion issues arrise if everything else isnt fine tuned. Brims in Cura 5.3.1 come right off and barely even need post processing so use them to your advantage
  4. Always good to replace bowden tubes once every 3 months or so. These printers need maintenance just like anything else. Poly-tetra-flouro-etyhylene teflon bowden tube are durable and thermally resistant but wear and tear takes place when user takes it in and out of print head and feeder coupling. Chamfer end does go on print head side. Should order extra tubes and clips or print your own clips. Collets could be printed but these things are so cheap worth just buying extras for good parts
  5. GLUE everytime. No glue with the glass build plate is a bad idea. All ultimakers less the S7 need glue for adhesion. I hardly even clean the plate just add more glue and start printing again. The print cores also have to be cleaned using a hard pull sometimes to make sure the unit is extruding nicely, otherwise I've seen the filament get bunched up at the tip even with glue on the plate
  6. Are you actually getting the er65 error or are you just suggesting under extrusion is happening due to the way your print looks. To me those prints dont look horrible. Maybe try ironing top layer. Also do try to bring your model into 3D builder, there may be issues with your mesh. Usually under extrusion occurs because the print core needs to be cleaned. Sounds like you already checked that
  7. Tomnagel... How about a fulament PEI sheet. It isnt a BuildTak. A little cheaper but literally its like the same thing I think. I have one on my Creality Cr10S Pro and I wouldnt ever change. Works perfect
  8. Yes gr5 i do believe it can indeed handle the temps as tomnagel also said. But i also know the S5 is fine tuned for glass and things stick very well to it. I just dont like removing the big glass plate all the time and I seen the S7 implements a PEI sheet, at least thats what Ultimaker says. I feel like the S5 with a PEI sheet is basically an S7 without the inductive sensor. But the capacitive sensor is probably just as good.
  9. Thorough answer! Thanks for that. The PEI sheet is about 1mm thick and you have to put a 2mm thick magnetic stick base onto the glass bed for it to work. I actually am still either considering this bed technique or just using the OEM glass as that is nice. I want to say others use a wham bam sheet or something like that. The fulament is what I have on my creality printer and just thought it would be no harm to try on S5. The ultituner ool seems confusing and maybe a bad idea. How does it work. You send new firmware to V7 to override some settings. Sounds like you put the printer in developer mode, then you can CMD exe. the prompt and somehow that drives firmware to the printer. Or you add the commands as shown and then that tells the printer what you want...Does the command come up on the printer interface or does the firmware just change somehow? If you make changes how do you go back to the orginal OEM version
  10. I've added a PEI sheet fulament to my S5. I cannot turn off auto leveling and it isnt recommended. Is it a bad idea to use the PEI sheet. I like it bc then its basically and S7
