  1. Once I had a print core that became unscrewed. See if you can feel play in the core when holding the heat block and gently turning the collar where the filament is inserted. Don't use tools or force as the connecting section is very thin.
  2. The SpoolMaker application is extended with a drop down box providing the found diameters. It is possible to use this to filter the selected materials. Again this is in my fork. There are a number of filaments with 1.74 and 1.75 diameter in the standard Cura database. There are also 2.8 and 3.175 diameters. The default is 2.85 as this is the most used diameter for the Ultimaker and programming the spools used on the UM printers. It is also possible to select "All" to have no filter. For NFC tags I've seen that these NFC 216 tags on Aliexpress work with spools having a 51mm center hole. The NFC reader in the printer is capable of working with these. Some of my spools of other manufacturers also have center holes of 60+mm and with these the tag is not read properly when it is at the bottom.
  3. The photo suffers more from JPG compression artifacts than what ringing is a case here. That being said, in fast printing one still see ringing artifacts, so I guess input shaping is not implemented yet.
  4. Printed a benchy with some Ultimaker ABS that was left on a roll. It was done in fine. There were some imperfections with the seam and the overhangs, but the text on the back surprised me!

  9. Looking at old posts, it seems as if the DSM profiles for the materials were available in the past. These, however are not available within the materials marketplace anymore. Is there somewhere where these profiles can be found for the newer printers? Just gaining insights into the the material settings will already be helpful to make a custom profile
  10. This is an old problem but I think I've cracked it... My WiFi was working flawlessly with 5.3.0, but in preparing my unit for sale, I did a factory reset. In setting up I suffered from the WiFi issues mentioned in this thread. It was not clear as an incorrect password would de rejected, but with a correct password things went askew. I attached a LAN cable and did some digging, but found nothing. Then I thought back how I set up the printer and considered the 2+ connected printer behaviour... I set up the digital factory via the LAN and after that, setting up the WiFi worked! Original post was here also I noticed that after factory reset things worked well if I follow the Digital Factory path in combination with WiFi. After WiFi is up and running one can disconnect the Digital Factory.
  11. Your problem looks like an issue with finding the card reader. Can you check your card reader with another application? Check windows device manager to see if your card reader is present. I didn't see your problem, but when I ran the Spoolmaker I ran into another issue with a directory called .sentry-native that was placed in the user configuration folder. If people run into this with the beta version of Cura 5.7, then this should fix it. Note, it is fixed in my fork and not in the original code linked up top in this thread.
  12. I read tuning in the acceleration behaviour in the notes of Cura 5.5 as some tuning in input shaping, but maybe that was not quite the way they did it..
  13. 600 for a working S5 is no money. The printer should still give you plenty of reliable service. The S5 R1 will print TPU95A fine. My UM3 and UM3S does in any case. Using interlocking to combine TPU with other materials certainly opens up possibilities. Check some TPU/PLA combo's from my vault: This is a foot for a stopper. The black is TPU. Grippy and very wear resistant. This is where it is used Here TPU was used to create a "spring". It has two PLA caps to make sure it remains in place in the indentations in the grip. The layer line of the joint is visible. This is one of 4 feet on a balance board for my standing desk. The cone is PLA and the top cylinder with dome is TPU.
  14. With my UM3 being replaced in January with a second hand S3 I've been enjoying the improvements that the S3 brought with it. The improved hardware and the input shaping support introduced was a nice boost. The quality was clearly a step up. With the UM3 I printed ABS a few times and struggled with warping. Even though my UM3 was in a Box3d enclosure the warping was quite intense. I even found a solution for it using PETG and interlocking to help with the insane warping. So ABS was relegated to a material less used... It just did not provide the results I wanted and working with custom rafts for it was just a little too much hassle every time, especially if it was an STL off one of the sites. With many months not using ABS it came across my path again... About a month ago I bought 20 spools of Verbatim material for 20 Euro. It included some PP, TPU and quite a bit of ABS. One of my colleagues with a Creality was looking to upgrade some of his fan shrouds to ABS or a higher temp material. I offered to print it for him, seeing that I have enough ABS and the S3 should be OK. To my surprise, the S3 is better than OK. I suffered no warping for the fan shrouds and hot end parts! It is amazing what the printer delivered! Seeing that there is enough ABS, the trigger was pulled to print a wall mount for something in the work shop. It takes up about the entire build plate. With first few millimeters deposited, there is absolutely no warping! Fantastic! Thanks guys for building a great little printer. Print temperature is also tracked in the bottom of the Box3d and is nice and low. The electronics will not be cooked, thus.
  15. Found on Thingiverse EDIT, sure it is for the UM3, but from what I can see the mounting is the same for the UM3 and the UMS3/S5
