  1. Let us know who, or about what topic, you would like to ask questions during one of our next AMA's (Ask Me Anything)! Below I will post links to our previous AMA's October 31st: - New: Abrasive Materials: Owens Corning - XSTRAND™. - I'm a Material Engineer for Ultimaker since 2015. AMA! - We are part of the Cura team. AMA! - Quality Control and Assembly AMA If you are not familiar with the concept, during an ‘AMA/Ask Me Anything’ someone steps forward for around an hour or so to answer any question you fire. Usually, this person has a specific level of expertise or story which is interesting to know more about. But don't let this limit your questions 🙂 I do feel obliged to mention, despite the fact it is called an ‘Ask Me Anything’, we are bound by Ultimaker policy to keep a tight lip regarding future products. Hope you understand! Suggested topics are: - Quality Control & Manufacturing - Cura Software - Embedded; Cura Connect or S5 touch screen software - team. - Ultimaker founder - Support-team - Distribution-team - Materials team - Community Manager - Electronics - Testing - Industry experts/artists (from within the community, like @valcrow, @Stefania Dinea or @SteveCox3D) - Industry experts; materials. Owens Corning. I'm looking forward to read any comments who you would like to see next time, or what topic it should be!
  2. 'Hi, I'm Steve Harris. SVP Supply chain and manufacturing at Ultimaker. I am leading global Lean Six Sigma projects, planning, purchasing, logistics, manufacturing, manufacturing engineering and quality assurance teams. Over 130 people working in the Netherlands and US to deliver customer value while reducing both waste and variance.' and.. 'Hi, I'm Erin Oliver (@fbrc8-erin) from FBRC8. Operations director at FBRC8 and oversee the day to day operations in the Assembly, Tech Support, Quality Control, Shipping, and Inventory departments. FBRC8 is responsible for warranty support for all generations of Ultimaker printers in North America.' Exciting!! We'll have both Steve and Erin ready for you on May 16th (5pm CEST). I will be here as well and together with Steve and Erin we'll try to answer all questions you have for us! Do you have any questions regarding quality control? Are there any differences between Europe and the US? What type of special tools are required for assembling an Ultimaker or how do we prepare for a launch? It promises to be an interesting AMA! See you on May 16th, 5pm CEST! - If you have any questions you already want to get off your chest, feel free to post them below. Answers will follow on the16th. - If you want to be sure you don't miss anything, click the follow button at the top right corner - If you have any questions about AMA in general; please post them here so this thread stays clean. Thank you!
  3. Hi Kenneth Kenneth has a question. When a module is resized the print changes.(eg on full module one can print two colours and when scaled down will only print one colour.
  4. 'Hi, we're Jaime (Nallath) and Mark (MSuurmond), crucial members of the Ultimaker Cura team!' @Nallath is a software engineer who has been with Ultimaker for a long time already, has worked on various projects and just knows a lot... about everything! He's also quite active on the forums when his workload allows him. @MSuurmond is the product owner of Cura and is involved with decisions that influence the future of Cura on a daily basis. On October 18th at 4:30pm CEST Jaime and Mark will try to answer any question you might have for them. Whether it is regarding their work and Ultimaker Cura 3.0, their favorite line of code or if it is possible to express the value and investment in Cura in cups of coffee. Nallath and MSuurmond will start replying on October 18th at 4.30pm CEST.
  5. Do you have any questions for our Cura team? October 18th at 4:30 pm CEST we will host our second 'Ask Me Anything' (AMA) with no one less than @Nallath and @MSuurmond. If you are not familiar with the concept of an AMA, usually someone (or in this case 2 persons) step forward for a certain amount of time where they will try to answer any question you fire. Usually, this person has a specific level of expertise or story which is interesting to know more about. During our first AMA our Materials engineer @Tomhe stepped forward, initiated because we just launched our new material PP, but participants asked all kinds of questions. After our first AMA we asked who you would like to see next and Cura was (as always) quite popular. We found it fitting to ask @Nallath and @Msuurmond if they were willing to participate, also because we will just have launched Ultimaker Cura 3.0. As a participant, you are of course free to ask what you want! I do feel obliged to mention, despite the fact it is called an ‘Ask Me Anything’, we are bound by Ultimaker policy to keep a tight lip regarding future products. Hope you understand! October 18th. 4:30PM (CEST). Bookmark this link! Tip; open the link and click 'follow'. You'll receive notifications when there are new posts. Feel free to post your questions or comments below but any questions meant for @Nallath or @MSuurmond as part of the AMA will not yet be answered. Make sure to post them in the thread above during the AMA. This promises to be interesting!
  6. 'Hi, I'm Tom (@TomHe). I'm a Material Engineer at Ultimaker, I started in 2015 as an intern to finish my Chemical Engineering Master from Eindhoven University of Technology.' ... Tom has worked for Ultimaker for 3 years already and has played a role in many of the Ultimaker products we all use regularly. Tom started in 2015 working on PVA. His graduation project evolved around producing and 3D printing carbon nanotubes, and graphene filled materials (for electrical conductivity). Other responsibilities Tom joyfully carried; the first print profiles for the Ultimaker 3 and everything PVA related. Putting together 3D print profiles also include determining the best nozzle geometry, Cura features and supplying values for all settings used in Cura.' Tom will start replying at 4.30pm CEST.
  7. Next week we will host our very first ‘Ask Me Anything’. Mark July 26th in your agenda, at 4:30pm (CEST) you have a one hour time window to ask us anything! It will be hosted here on our forums. Just in case you are not familiar with the concept, during an ‘AMA/Ask Me Anything’ someone steps forward for a certain amount of time ready to answer any question you might fire. Usually, this person has a specific level of expertise or story which is interesting to know more about. Our first person to step forward is Tom Heijmans, one of our expert Material Engineers. Putting together 3D print profiles also include determining the best nozzle geometry, Cura features and supplying values for all settings used in Cura. Given Tom’s expertise it would make sense to ask anything about printing profiles, material settings/features in Cura or our materials. Why is ABS (still) popular? Ever wondered what our material team is up to or how to start putting together a printing profile from scratch?? Always wanted a glance within Ultimaker? Ask Tom what it is like to work here. Tom will do his best to answer everything! I do feel obliged to mention, despite the fact it is called an ‘Ask Me Anything’, we are bound by Ultimaker policy to keep a tight lip regarding future products. Hope you understand! Next week, July 26th. 4:30PM (CEST). Bookmark this link! Tip; open the link and click 'follow'. You'll receive notifications when there are new posts. Feel free to leave any comments who you would like to see next time, or what topic it should be!
