Guys, don't worry about the beta. The final release is very close I think. I wouldn't be surprised to see it next week but this does not mean it will be next week. The new Cura is officially announced for July. So there are 31 possible dates minus the weekends.

Funny ... it seems marketing decided it's ready today ..... why listen to a developer :)

The software is incredibly popular and very versatile–and tomorrow it gets even better. At 9 AM CEST July 1st, Ultimaker will be launching the New Cura.

What did we do this time? :p

Obviously we wouldn't release it unless we got 'the green light' that it is ready to go.

Maybe @Nallath's estimation was a bit off.

As far as I know we were supposed to launch a open beta first. We only had a closed beta with 25 ish people testing it. That will catch a lot of the bugs, but not all of them.

    We'll it seems it's not ready ....

After setup I get the "Installation complete" "setup was completed succesfully".

But it will not run, message "Errors in 'Cura.exe'

    I'm on windows7,

    Here the log file:

    Traceback (most recent call last):

     File "cura_app.py", line 8, in

File "c:\dev\uranium\UM\Application.py", line 326, in getInstance

File "c:\dev\cura\cura\CuraApplication.py", line 64, in __init__

File "c:\dev\python34\lib\configparser.py", line 937, in __getitem__

    KeyError: 'general'

And you should make a very clear statement on the installation page which Cura to use in which case, and what's ready and not ready in the new cura. You should provide guidance... as it's published now many users who should better stick to the old cura for now will download it anyhow...

Also adding "new cura" in the naming would be practical.

uh oh. Not an other UM forum release with errors in Cura this time!

Also, really? Captcha on download? Are you guys getting lots of spam downloads?

EDIT: also, windows 8 is giving the installation file the, uhoh, might be harmful treatment.

I'm sure people will not install it because of that, either because they dont trust it, or because they simply can't find the damn button to.

Well, the Linux version is the wrong one. So yeah, this is why I thought there was going to be an open beta before shipping it to the world. The latest roadmap I saw had an open beta in it, but it could be that it was scrapped to get a faster release.WrongLinuxVersion.png.1b885478e377489f9ff42d8bf549ce59.png

Remove the configuration file. You guys have had the beta, which causes problems (appearantly)

About the captcha, we had the suspicion yes. Hopefully you are not too inconvenienced :)

About the notification, wasn't this always the case that it was developed by a uncertified developer?.. or whatever the official term is?

We are also uploading the old versions for those users who want to look into them.

Keeping our archives up to date. You shouldn't receive a notification about that, we will stop doing so until the notification is turned off :)

It is "working" as expected on OS X, FYI. Still buggy, but working.

I still haven't used it to print anything since I never use SD for printing.

Could you report the issues you have with it?

Saving to file & USB printing should work.

I have only ever seen a "Save to Disk" option. Never a "Print" option.

The README from the installation says:

    Cura 15.06 Beta

    ===============

This is the *Beta* version of Cura 15.06.

Cura 15.06 is a new release built from the ground up on a completely new

framework called Uranium. This framework has been designed to make it easier to

extend Cura with additional functionality as well as provide a cleaner UI.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
