angle in 3D printing without support?

Recommended Posts

That's great

There is also an angle test Here that can help find the maximum angle you can print at. If you print it at different angles like your test will help show the best way to orientate your designs. But you need to do this one at a time as printing more then one adds heaps more cooling time.

You also now need to focus on getting rid of that Stringing.

yeah, that angle test showed a pretty nasty surface underneath on 70 degrees. 45 and even 60 was still pretty decent.

Meanwhile i tried testing vertical printing some more without supports, this time with a thicker model (2mm) ...it came out almost perfectly without a scratch!

    • "Back To The Future" using Generative Design & Investment Casting
Designing for light-weight parts is becoming more important, and I’m a firm believer in the need to produce lighter weight, less over-engineered parts for the future. This is for sustainability reasons because we need to be using less raw materials and, in things like transportation, it impacts the energy usage of the product during it’s service life.
