I saw this line and looked at it, skirt was set to 1, which is apparently the default because I started with a global normal profile. Reset the skirt, but noticed that it stayed at 1, although the preview shows 3.

Threw away the customized profiles, and now it is gone..:)

Changing the skirt lines to 1 or 2 doesn't change the preview, it always displays 3.

duh.. this is because of the skirt length....

But even the value True should be converted to 1, which is a valid setting. I've even changed the machine default to True and couldn't get it to crash.

Does installing this Beta modify something on the "official" version if this is installed on the same machine? - I am printing something sliced with 15.04, and I feel that the infills gets printet much faster than before, to the point that the extruding cant extrude fast enough, so the infills gets a bitt splattery.

No you can work with different versions of Cura on the same machine.

It probably comes from the way you sliced it

The old Cura (up to 15.04) and the new Cura (15.06 and beyond) do not share any settings as far as I know, so you should be able to run them side-by-side and one does not affect the other.

However, 15.06 and the new betas share the same settings files, and there could be some incompatibilities between these versions.

Thanks, no new methods of slicing here, maybe I just remember it wrong. Is there anywhere to access the different speeds: innfill/ perimeter etc.

You mean in the new Cura? Ooh yeah... Check out the "Settings" section in the Preferences! There are LOTS of settings that you can fiddle with.

In 15.04 you can access the different speeds by going in expert mode.

    In the advanced tab.

The quickprint profiles have an infill speed that is quite high and can cause underextrusion

I am using the beta and 15.04 on Win10 in parallel and wanted to chime in :-)

I like the new UI and think the slicer in the new version performs better with regards to processing speed. I have not encountered any crashes or obvious bugs yet.

When I tested an earlier beta (believe it was 15.06), I missed the "print one at a time" vs. "print all at once" setting as well as print profiles - I was very pleased to find these in 15.10.

Unfortunately the print profile file format seems to be incompatible between 15.04 and 15.10 - will you provide at least an import filter for earlier version profiles?

I use my UM2 with many different materials and have created about 20 profiles for different filaments, part sizes, accuracy and mechanical strength needed, etc.

It would be really annoying to recreate all those settings in Cura 15.10.

    Thanks!

It set skirt line count to True, which it finds invalid (as it needs to be a number!). I'm completely unable to reproduce the error in any way :S

Could you delete your profile and try again?

The same error happened to me right now with latest 15.10. Normal quality profile was selected and it sliced the model well. But after the support disabling the error appeared.

    Here is the log:

2015-09-23 16:06:13,346 - DEBUG - Preparing to send slice data to engine.2015-09-23 16:06:13,431 - DEBUG - Sending data to engine for slicing.2015-09-23 16:07:02,636 - DEBUG - Setting value of setting support_enable to False2015-09-23 16:07:03,138 - DEBUG - Preparing to send slice data to engine.2015-09-23 16:07:03,139 - WARNING - The setting skirt_line_count has an invalid value of True2015-09-23 16:07:03,139 - WARNING - Profile has error values. Aborting slicing2015-09-23 16:07:28,400 - DEBUG - Setting value of setting support_enable to True

Somehow it convert all values which has value 1 to True. When I set the skirt_line_count to 2, skirt_line_count pass the profile validation. But then, it hangs on another value with same error:

2015-09-23 16:17:44,310 - WARNING - The setting material_print_temperature has an invalid value of True

With version .83 I have a lot of strings and almost no retraction! tried version .80 with the same model and same settings and print as wanted.

I installed 15.09.82 and 15.09.83. Both didn't start up at all.

15.09.80 and 15.09.81 DO start up.

    I'm running on Ubuntu 15.04

Can confirm this for the latest version, this is the error message from the console:

Hi! beside all the above reported isues, I like the design and functionallity of the 15.09.84 beta.

Nevertheless, when will dual extrusion be supported??

I have a UMO with customized dual extrusion head and customized fans so I have to mod the settings there too...

@Marit, nallath, could you please give me some hints on this???

There is no easy way to get the dual extrusion to work with 15.9.xx or 15.10 yet. It should be supported for 16.1 (which will be released in about 3 months).

You can change the head size in the new version; you have a -lot- more options there compared to the old Cura. The old Cura simply assumed your head shape was a rectangle, where the new cura allows you to use polygons.

Great news - thank you !!

So I stay with my modified 15.04 until 16.1 :-)

Would be great to have a simulation with a moving head out of this additional informaiton from the head dimensions too... :-)

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
