Knurled Feeder Wheel loose

Recommended Posts

Posted · Knurled Feeder Wheel loose

Hello

The knurled wheel on my ultimaker 2 came loose.

The hex screw that holds it in place has become round so the key won't fit.

I've asked at a hardware store what size it is (and replacements), but they said they couldn't find the right size.

Does anyone know what size it actually is?

Did you get the screw out? You can use torx keys (star shape) as they can some times grip when it's stripped.

It uses an M3 grub screw.

I had the same problem some time ago, so I bought some from AliExpress (like 100 stainless grub screws for very little money - less than 5 euro from memory) so now I don't worry if the screw gets damaged.

one additional thought I would recommend you get grub screws with a flat end (not domes or cone shape) they seem to grip the shaft better
