USB printing w/ Cura

Hi, I just got my first 3d printer, an Ultimaker2, and I'm trying to get it to print through USB from my PC. I can open an stl file in Cura and see it, I can also see it downloaded and an estimated print time, but when I hit the "Print with USB" button nothing happens. It seems that my PC is not communicating with the printer. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Don't use print through usb. It's not officially supported. Yeah you can get it to work with some tinkering, but i've never had a lot of succes with it. Sticking to the SD card is a better option imho.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
