Ultimaker original print distorted need help!!!!

Hello all,

              i am having a problem with my prints. below is a picture of my last print. it's like the print is compressing and distorting. what can i do to fix this problem? here are my printer specs & setting. UMO , 4mm nozzle, 3mm filament PLA, layer height 0.1, shell thickness 0.8, fill bottom/top thickness 0.6, fill density 20%, speed/temp. speed 50, temp 210c, filament diameter 2.85, flow 100% . i am using the latest version of cura. any help or pointers would be great.

Hi @robonetix,

Do you have a picture of your print from another angle?

It looks like something is funny with your print but it is hard to say exactly what.

Based on your description, I am guessing one of the pulley's is loose on your UMO.

There are 12 Pulleys on the entire Ultimaker, check them ALL.

I would recommend to start with the pulleys that have the short belts on them, and don't forget the one on the motors

If you found it, tighten the setscrew in it.

i was having the issue with the print shifting, i did have a loose belt, i tighten it and the shifting stopped. but now this is the only issue i am having ( distorted prints). I checked all the belts they all seem tight. I will check again to make sure. thank you for help.

It could also be that the X and Y rods that are going through the printhead are not in a clean '+' and there is a lot of tension/friction in a few movements?

When using only 2 fingers, how easily can you move the head around?

How old is your Ultimaker Original?

Can you take a picture of the tension on your long belts?

Are they slacking or relatively tight? (too tight also isn't good).

, yes i can move the printhead easy with my finger, no dragging or sticking, i check the "+" by using the calibrating tool that came with the printer and everything is where it needs to be. the printer is only a few months old. i've done about 5 test prints with each print getting better after a few adjustments. i'm at the point i don't know what else to adjust to fix this problem. thank you for your help, i will check again to make sure nothing shifted or moved with the calibration tool for the '+'.

Is that the case? They come out too small? No weird things happening in X or Y? (I dunno if I am blind, but I can tell there is something weird about the photo's but it is hard to tell what exactly).

Yeah, it's a bit difficult to tell from the pics. Printing a simple cube might make it easier to diagnose

ok, here is the test block print out. the circles are not circles the square box isn't square and the block is compressed. any help to fix this problem would be great. thanks
